Manchester star striker Marcus Rashford’s words seems good of Rasmus Hojlund joining Old Trafford
Man Utd finally sign a striker in the summer transfer window but they need more than just Rasmus Hojlund alone.
Manchester United are finally signing a forward but Rasmus Hojlund alone is unlikely to be enough to solve their attacking woes. The Denmark international has passed his medical ahead of a potential transfer announcement this weekend and although he is highly rated, expectations have to be tempered for a player who is still going strong on the biggest stages.
United were already in need of a new striker before Cristiano Ronaldo left last November and with Wout Weghorst on loan they certainly haven’t been able to solve that problem.
Even if Hojlund is a success in his first season, United will still need more than his goals to close the gap to the Premier League’s best. If he takes the time to adapt, this need will be even greater.
United scored 103 goals in all competitions last season. However, these numbers are a bit misleading considering the number of games the club played in a record 62-game season.
A more accurate expression of their attacking performance is that they scored just 58 Premier League goals to sit seventh in the table, behind Tottenham and Brighton on the list; just seven more than relegated Leicester. They have scored 36 goals, one Erling Haaland, less than Man City, which shows how much work they need to do if they really want to fight for the title.
Of course, there is no guarantee that Haaland will match his outstanding performance from last season, and there is also no guarantee that Marcus Rashford can match his performance. One can only argue that United are 36 goals behind City’s tally, given that the England international will initially score a further 17 goals.
Remarkably, Anthony Martial was the club’s third top scorer in all competitions with just nine goals, while Jadon Sancho and Antony failed to score in double figures. Alejandro Garnacho’s five goals encouraged United, as much as Ronaldo and Weghorst scored together. More encouraging, however, is that Rashford isn’t just striving for the best performance of his career; He really thinks he can top it.
“Coming back from the World Cup I felt there was a change in mentality and I felt like I could compete with some of the best players in the world at the time,” he said to The Overlap.

Kylian Mbappe considering a vision of Manchester United transfer incentive
Dream Kylian Mbappe Manchester United transfer incentive from Sheikh Jassim.
If Shiekh Jassim’s takeover is successful, Mbappe may depart PSG this summer in a transfer that would be considered a blockbuster. Man United may be one of his possible destinations.
It may seem unlikely that Kylian Mbappe will join Manchester United, but you can bet your bottom Qatari Riyal that Sheikh Jassim, a potential owner of the Reds, would love to bring the Frenchman to Old Trafford.
The possibility that Mbappe won’t exercise the one-year option on his PSG contract, which would allow him to leave for free after 12 months, has cast doubt on the future of the young player. When the player posted on social media that he was content in Paris for the upcoming season, it complicated matters.
This path has been traveled before with Mbappe, and it resulted in a new €630 million contract and, reportedly, a voice in the decisions made by the French giants. Only a small number of people could afford to enter into any potential deals this summer, and Real Madrid of Spain would be the clear favorites.
They’ve previously pursued him, and they have the resources and reputation in Europe to entice the 24-year-old. Right now, it’s difficult to imagine United’s financial limitations allowing them to make a move for Mbappe, and that’s without considering whether the superstar would even be interested.
But if Sheikh Jassim prevails in his bid to take control of the Reds, the goalposts may move. He would bring considerable financial clout, and earlier this season, reports claimed he saw Mbappe as the ideal player to sign.
As the current PSG is owned by Qatar’s Emir Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani through Qatar Sports Investments, Mbappe would also be aware of what to anticipate. As the crown jewel of Paris, Mbappe has interacted with the owners. It helps to understand the way things are done while also highlighting possible parallels to Sheikh Jassim’s potential work style at United.
Mbappe, of course, also shone for France at the World Cup in Qatar, where they lost to Argentina in the championship game despite Mbappe scoring three goals and winning the golden boot. His star is shining brightly all over the world, and he would bring enormous commercial potential to wherever he goes next.

Man Utd players ‘would support return of Mason Greenwood’ as encouragement for forward
Manchester United senior players will reportedly support Mason Greenwood’s return to the club as his future with the Red Devils remains in limbo
Manchester United senior players are reportedly backing Mason Greenwood’s reinstatement at the club.
Greenwood has not played for United in 18 months and the club are yet to release the decision from their six-month investigation into the striker’s suspension by the 21-year-old.
In February, the prosecution confirmed that the attempted rape, assault and coercion charges against Greenwood had been dropped.
And while United’s decision on Greenwood is “imminent”, a number of senior players are said to support the return of the England international to the squad.
The source said: “All the players think he deserves a second chance because he is innocent in the eyes of the law. “He hasn’t had a chance to clear his name in court because the charges have been dropped, so the players feel he’s been left in the dark. They know it’s going to be tough, but they’re willing to see him get through supporting and protecting.” It.
“Some of the younger players have gone through the academy with him, so there’s a loyalty to him. They know he’s made mistakes, but the guys who’ve talked to him say he’s matured a lot in the last 18 months and will come back a lot wiser.”
After his trial failed, Greenwood is able to continue his football career, but whether or not he will be reinstated at Old Trafford remains to be seen.
Erik ten Hag has already spoken about the forward’s future, saying: “It’s the club’s decision. Of course, I expressed my ideas and my opinions, but it is a decision of the club. We all have to accept this.
“I can’t say the same. But what I’m saying is that I expressed my opinion on this, so let’s see what happens and what the decision will be.”
