Manchester United already know their perfect transfer alternative for Declan Rice
Two best friends are both ready for summer travel and are both pretty decent football players. Declan Rice and Mason Mount are unlikely to end up as teammates at both club and international level, but their respective futures at West Ham United and Chelsea appear to be extremely confused.
However, their respective exits, if they go as planned, will take place under very different circumstances. Rice would hang his Hammers boots as adored, idolized and remembered forever – on the back of a European journey and success beyond West Ham’s wildest dreams. A night in Prague that will never be forgotten, as Rice settles down and takes a step up the ladder, sure to boost the club he loves with a hefty transfer fee. Arsenal are reportedly leading the race for his services, in a deal that would cost the Gunners £90m. West Ham’s number 41 is said to be Mikel Arteta’s “main target” as they look to target Bayern Munich, Newcastle and Manchester United for signing him. Hammers chairman David Sullivan confirmed this week that the club would not hinder Rice and that he expects a quick sale.
As for Mount, a quick move from Stamford Bridge looks closer by the day, for a player who has failed to negotiate new terms with the Blues and will reportedly have no problem accepting them at Old Trafford.
Chelsea’s valuation could be a stumbling block for Erik ten Hag’s side, but United should back themselves to take the deal over the edge if they really want to. As with Harry Kane, there will be uproar for United to target Rice. That will always be the case for England’s biggest club and the country’s best players. Yet despite Rice’s tremendous talent and the many attributes she has to offer, it’s worth taking a step back and considering why Ten Hag might have their sights set more on Mt.
United already have a destroyer and enabler in Casemiro and a forward-looking, creative spark in Bruno Fernandes ahead of them. Ten Hag’s job this summer will be to round out that trio as best as possible, a void that may have Mount’s name right on it. With the great characters and action figures of Casemiro and Fernandes, a mobile and indefatigable figure like Mount – who works quieter but more effectively – could simply step in, while boosting United’s athleticism in one part of the pitch who needs it most.

Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal have shown an interest previously, though the Gunners are prioritising a move for Rice while battling it out with Chelsea look over Brighton ace Moises Caicedo.

Man Utd make Kim top target
Manchester United will push to sign Napoli defender Kim Min-jae next month.
As Mirror Football have reported, Kim’s £51million release clause will become active in July and the South Korean international is set to leave the Italian champions.
The Guardian report that the 26-year-old is Erik ten Hag’s preferred target to strengthen the defence because Harry Maguire is expected to leave this summer.
Maguire will meet with Ten Hag next week to discuss his future after being disappointed with his lack of game time this season. He is likely to leave alongside Dean Henderson and Donny van de Beek.

Lionel Messi has decided to join Inter Miami instead of Al-Hilal, according to Guillem Balague.

Real Madrid are set to pay Borussia Dortmund €100million (£86m) to sign Jude Bellingham in the summer transfer window.

Sheikh Jassim makes fifth bid for Man Utd
Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad al-Thani has tabled an improved fifth bid for Manchester United but has made it clear it must be accepted by Friday – or he is out.
The Qatari has been one of two front-runners in the takeover process alongside INEOS chief Sir Jim Ratcliffe, but the saga has dragged on for months. Sheikh Jassim had made the bid directly with the Glazers and the Raine Group, but wants an answer by Friday, at which point he won’t negotiate with them further.
Sheikh Jassim’s bid is for total control of the Premier League club, as per the Daily Mail, and is thought to include major investment in the club’s infrastructure, which has been majorly neglected under the current ownership
Arsenal to launch Rice pursuit
Arsenal will contact West Ham to begin negotiations over Declan Rice following the Europa Conference League final tonight.
As Mirror Football have reported, Rice is Arsenal’s number one priority in the summer transfer window. They are hopeful they can land the England international, in spite of the Hammers’ £100million valuation.
talkSPORT says the Gunners will make a formal approach later this week, once West Ham have returned from their match against Fiorentina in Prague.
Mourinho ready to ruin Arsenal and Liverpool transfer hopes
Jose Mourinho is ready to ruin Arsenal and Liverpool’s hopes of signing Youri Tielemans, with a plan to bring the midfielder to Roma this summer.
Tielemans is available on a free transfer, with his release following Leicester City’s relegation leaving the Belgian free to negotiate with clubs around Europe. Liverpool and Arsenal have both been linked to the 26-year-old in the past, with both reported to be looking to boost their depth in midfield this summer.
Roma, meanwhile, are set to have less to spend this summer than their Premier League rivals, with a free transfer a realistic proposition following their failure to secure Champions League football. Mourinho’s side lost last week’s Europa League final, leaving them without any European football for next season.
He has been able to provide former Premier League talent with opportunities in Italy, with Tammy Abraham and Chris Smalling both having thrived under his management.
Mac Allister closes in on Liverpool move as price tag emerges
Alexis Mac Allister is on the brink of sealing his Liverpool move – after the Brighton midfielder underwent his medical yesterday.
Mirror Football understands, despite reports that the Reds will pay £35m, that an agreement has been reached at a fee which is thought to be somewhere between £45-50million initially.
The medical is likely to be completed today, which would give Liverpool time to tie up any loose ends on the deal before announcing his signing by the end of the week.
Arsenal open Cancelo talks as Man City star’s transfer preference emerges
Arsenal will face competition in their bid to sign Manchester City’s Joao Cancelo this summer, with both Real Madrid and Barcelona in the running to sign the full-back.
The 29-year-old is set to leave Man City this summer, with Pep Guardiola allowing Cancelo to leave on loan in January in a surprise move for a player who was previously one of his outstanding performers.
He became an important player for Bayern Munich, but the Bundesliga have not made the deal permanent having been reluctant to meet the £60 million buy-out clause included in his loan contract.
Arsenal have now emerged as candidates to sign the full-back, with Arteta previously having worked with the player during his time with Man City. Cancelo joined City in 2019, with the then right-back evolving to become an effective creative threat from the left-hand-side.
Sunderland ace in demand
Crystal Palace, Brentford and Burnley are all thought to be monitoring contract talks between Jack Clarke and Sunderland amid reports of talks regarding a new deal having stalled.
TEAMtalk report that the 22-year-old, who 11 goals and 13 assists in all competitions. has not yet agreed a new deal at the Stadium of Light and could be set for a move to the Premier League.
He still has three years left to run on his current deal, but his growing status will be drawing the interest of clubs who may be more able to match his demands after an impressive 18 months in the north east.

Tottenham star admits players would be “happy” to see Kane join Real Madrid
Tottenham’s squad would be “happy” to see star-striker Harry Kane leave the club for Real Madrid this summer, according to Spurs ace Pedro Porro.
Porro is quoted by the Daily Mail as confessing: “If Kane decides to go to Real Madrid we’ll be as happy as he is or more.”
Spurs fans keen on keeping Kane at the club are unlikely to take too kindly to those remarks, as speculation linking the stiker with a move to Spain does not seem to be going away any time soon.

Sam Allardyce names the club he should sign Manchester United’s Harry Maguire
This summer will most likely see the end of Harry Maguire at Manchester United, as he has been much out of favor under Erik ten Hag.
The centre-back is only 30 and has spent several years at the top level, but his apparent lack of mobility in the Dutchman’s squad seems to be playing against him.
High-profile mistakes, such as those against Sevilla in the Europa League, will also have hurt his chances of staying at Old Trafford. Either way, he’s unlikely to be short of offers if he confirms his intent to move on, and former Leeds United boss Sam Allardyce believes he knows exactly which club he should end up at.
As Spurs have just announced the signing of Ange Postecoglou as their new manager, it would be a great decision on the Australian’s part to sign a player who is a laughingstock to many.
Let us not forget, however, that Maguire’s performances for England have been solid overall, so perhaps it will be Manchester United who end up with egg on their faces.
The centre-back would also have a real point to prove, and if he can become the linchpin in Tottenham’s back four, there’s no reason why he can’t be used as a platform from which north Londoners can build.

Man Utd: Jordan makes huge Kane transfer prediction after his ‘talk’ with Spurs boss Levy
Simon Jordan has revealed he had an “interview” with Daniel Levy and this has led him to believe Man Utd target Harry Kane will remain at Tottenham. The England international’s contract expires in 2024, leaving his future uncertain in this summer’s transfer window.
Spurs had a nightmarish season in 2022/23 finishing eighth in the Premier League. However, Kane’s form was still outstanding. In his 38 league matches, he managed to score 30 goals.
Man Utd are looking for a world-class striker and Kane would be Ten Hag’s favorite target. Real Madrid have joined the race to sign Kane after Karim Benzema’s move to Saudi Arabia is completed. The Spanish giants have also been linked to Chelsea’s Kai Havertz but are now believed to be chasing the Spurs star.
Kane is about to enter the final year of his contract but Levy is known as a tough negotiator and it has been suggested the striker could cost up to £100m this summer.
