According to a Manchester Evening News report, Manchester United are on the verge of seeing an exodus from the club as four defenders are on the transfer list.
The report states that the Red Devils want to sign Jeremie Frimpong, a striker (preferably Harry Kane) and a young central midfielder. Harry Maguire, Brandon Williams, Alex Telles and Eric Bailly will be sold by United for the time being.
According to sources who spoke to ESPN, Manchester United and David de Gea are close to agreeing on a new contract.
A free transfer from Old Trafford at the end of the season is a possibility for the goalkeeper, whose contract is about to expire. United, on the other hand, think they are close to a deal with De Gea who will extend his stay while taking a pay cut but receiving more performance-related bonuses.
While discussions on the contract structure are still ongoing, most of the terms have already been agreed.
