The loss in the capital was thoroughly deserved and United can hardly have any complaints as David Moyes’ side just looked much more secure in possession and out of possession, too.

Scholes names one man who could’ve saved United

Well, speaking on TNT Sports during the aftermath of United’s deserved loss, Scholes named one player who could have changed the tide in the Red Devils’ favour.

“Goalscoring is a big issue. Four games without a goal, without creating anything, really… the attacking players have to step up, bring some confidence, and bring some threat to the team,” Scholes said.

“Harry Kane wouldn’t have scored as many goals as he has in Germany let’s put it that way, but he would have got more. And created a lot of chances as he likes to drop in them holes.”

Whether Harry Kane would have made the difference in attack is almost irrelevant. Due to the money that has been wasted on Antony, despite United potentially getting him for £60m cheaper than they eventually did, the funds were not available.

Kane wouldn’t have made a difference

The harsh reality, however, is that the current system in place under Ten Hag does not suit strikers with Rasmus Hojlund still yet to find the back of the net in the Premier League.

Kane may well have added goals to the United attack but the team is currently a mess at this moment in time and you would suspect the Englishman would also struggle.

Kane is a superb player but in this system, he would not get the service. Things need to change.
