Rashford vows not to slow down goal scoring àfter his streak for Manchester united.

Marcus Rashford has no plans to ‘slow down’ after continuing his impressive scoring form in Manchester United’s 3-0 win over Leicester City on Sunday.

Rashford scored twice as United claimed a straight win over Brendan Rodgers’ side and fell five points clear of Premier League leaders Arsenal after playing one game more.

The England international has scored 24 goals in all competitions this term, his best result in a single season, including 16 in 17 games after the World Cup break.

He has scored 17 goals in all competitions at Old Trafford this season, the most by a player in a single season for United since Wayne Rooney in 2011/12.

With a crucial week ahead, with United meeting Barcelona in the second leg of the Europa League play-offs and meeting Newcastle United in the EFL Cup final, Rashford is looking to continue improving. The 25-year-old told Sky Sports: “A good day overall. They created some good chances and David [de Gea] made a great save late in the first half without which we cannot. not win the game.

“It’s still early in the season, we are fighting for a lot of different things.

“We have another big game in the week to hopefully qualify for the next round of the Europa League and then a huge game for us [against Newcastle].

“I don’t want to slow down and I always want to improve.”

Erik ten Hag’s side are aiming for their first major title since Jose Mourinho’s EFL Cup and Europa League double in 2017. While Arsenal and Manchester City appear to be embroiled in a two-horse title race, United are quietly closing in on the pair.

Rashford says all the Ten Hag men can do is focus on themselves in their quest for their first championship title since 2013 under Alex Ferguson.

“We are close, but both teams ahead of us are good teams and play good football,” he added.

“We just have to focus on ourselves, do our best and keep scoring points.”
