The 21-year-old is set to take on Antony’s job as Man United prepares to make big moves in his career
Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has a big decision to make as his side prepare to host Brighton & Hove Albion on Saturday.
Man United asked Antony to delay his return following allegations of physical violence against him by his ex-girlfriend.
The Brazilian international is an important player for Ten Hag.
He was first choice on the right, although his performance divided opinion.
With Amad Diallo injured and uncertainty over Jadon Sancho’s future, Facundo Pellistri is the only right winger available. In our opinion, Pellistri should replace Antony in the starting lineup. He is a worthy candidate who has demonstrated passionately every chance he has.
Ten Hag have blocked a loan move for the Uruguay international this summer in a bid to add more depth to their squad.
Pellistri is a classic winger who is comfortable using wide areas to create chances.
Unlike Antony, he looks to make crosses so the attacker can attack. With Rasmus Hojlund set to start for Man United, having Pellistri on the right wing would make much more sense.
The 21-year-old is a technically sound striker who likes to play one-twos and run without the ball to create space.
He tried to make the most of his scattered moments. In Antony’s absence, he will have a real chance of claiming a regular place in the starting line-up.
The youngster is said to be aiming to get more first-team minutes as he continues to be an important member of the Uruguay squad. Now is Pellistri’s time to shine.
