‘The most important news’ – Reporter shares latest ‘behind the scenes’ update on Man Utd takeover
United Ay Hamve are closing in on a takeover after “important news” emerged from Old Trafford, journalist Ben Jacobs has told GIVEMESPORT.
The Glazer family announced last November that they were “embarking on a process of exploring strategic alternatives”, which could possibly include a departure from the Red Devils.
Latest Man United News – Takeover Update
According to BBC Sport journalist Simon Stone, Sheikh Jassim Bin Hamad Al Thani could turn to buying a Premier League rival if his bid to complete a Manchester United takeover fails at the Stretford Paddock.
The respected journalist named Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United as potential targets if the Sheikh Jassim-led Nine Two Foundation, which submitted a final proposal last month, were ignored by the Glazers.
Sir Jim Ratcliffe appears to be in a similar situation as it has been claimed he could explore the possibility of taking over La Liga giants Barcelona. However, billionaire Ineos has reportedly met the Glazer family for talks and is still looking for a Manchester United purchase.
However, the structure of Ratcliffe’s bid was met with opposition from minority shareholders at Old Trafford as he was willing to keep Joel and Avram Glazer on board.
Reliable Journalist Jacobs recently told GIVEMESPORT that the transfer budget handed to Red Devils boss Erik ten Hag will have no impact if a takeover is completed before the summer window closes.
What did Ben Jacobs say about a Man United takeover?
Jacobs understands Sheikh Jassim and Ratcliffe remain determined to secure the keys to Old Trafford and are working hard behind the scenes to reach an agreement with the Glazers. The reporter is aware that both sides are putting themselves in a position where they can complete a quick takeover if they get the green light from Manchester United’s current hierarchy.
Jacobs told GIVEMESPORT: “The biggest news on the acquisition, at least in terms of everything public, is that both groups are working behind the scenes to move forward to the point where they are ready to sign if the Glazers choose to continue . go.”
What is the future of Manchester United?
According to BBC Sport, Manchester United are willing to sell Anthony Elanga for just £15m after putting him on the transfer market.
The report suggests Everton are interested in the winger, who played just 702 minutes last season, while Nottingham Forest and Bundesliga sides are also keen.
But Elanga might not be the only big name to go through the exit door before the Manchester United takeover is complete, as Harry Maguire has also been handed a £50million price tag. The centre-back fell down the pecking order under Ten Hag, earning him offers to Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United, but a move to London never materialised.
Dean Henderson is ready to join Nottingham Forest on a permanent basis after the Tricky Trees found themselves in talks with Manchester United.
