Andre Onana said:
“Joining Manchester United is an incredible honor and I have worked hard my whole life to reach this moment, overcoming many obstacles along the way. Coming out to Old Trafford to defend our goal and contribute to the team will be another great experience. It’s the start of a new journey for me, with new teammates and new ambitions to fight for.
“Manchester United have a long history of incredible goalkeepers and I will now give it my all to create my own legacy for years to come. I am delighted to have the opportunity to work with Erik ten Hag again and look forward to playing my part in the success I know I am determined to achieve at this great football club.”
Manchester United director of football John Murtough said:
“Andre was our first choice as Manchester United’s new goalkeeper because he had just the right profile of technical qualities and personality. Having enjoyed success throughout his career, we know Andre will continue to fuel the winning mentality that we are building in our team. “He is already one of the best goalkeepers in the world and at the age of 27 we strongly believe he can grow even more in the coming years.”
