West Ham manager Moyes is concerned about how to put Trent into a new hybrid role at Liverpool
In his last three games, Trent Alexander-Arnold has recorded more assists in a new midfield role for Liverpool (4) than in his previous 27 league appearances as a full-back (2). Clearly Jurgen Klopp has unlocked a deadly weapon for Liverpool with Trent in an invasive hybrid role.
West Ham manager David Moyes, speaking at his pre-match press conference, says he has lost sleep over how to stop Trent when Liverpool challenge them on Wednesday.

“Trent’s new hybrid role? It’s something we thought about because he’s a very, very talented footballer. The deliveries from him, his use of the ball, his passing range, he has all those qualities of a great quarterback type kicker,” Moyes said.
“He’s also a good defender, he’s been an England international for years. I don’t think anyone should be shocked.
“For years there has been talk of Trento: he plays in midfield or full-back. At the moment Liverpool have used him a little more often and he has played very well for them.”
Moyes’ mind will be tested as Trent is expected to play in the same position again on Wednesday.

“That’s what longevity does to you, and sometimes if you can hold on, you become the eldest. Roy has shown that we have hopefully many more years ahead of us.
One of the big changes Klopp has made in recent weeks has been Trent Alexander-Arnold’s switch to a hybrid position, combining defensive and midfield duties. The England international was part of a ‘double six’.
“As everyone knows, he has all these qualities of a very good quarterback footballer, his deliveries, his use of the ball, his passing range,” Moyes said when asked about the move.
