Liverpool news and transfers LIVE – Roberto Firmino watches, Constantine Hatzidakis latest, Bellingham claim

Liverpool transfer news, rumours, gossip and speculation including updates on Constantine Hatzidakis, Alexis Mac Allister, Gavi as, Alex Scott, PGMOL, Andy Robertson and Jude Bellingham

As the transfer window approaches, rumors are circulating that Jürgen Klopp is looking to rebuild his struggling midfield with Brighton and Hove Albion’s Alexis Mac Allister, the latter linked with a move to Merseyside.

It has also been reported that Liverpool will beat West Ham with the arrival of talented youngster Alex Scott from Bristol City with the summer approaching.

Opinion is divided on what should be done with linesman Constantine Hatzidakis after he appeared to shove Andy Robertson in the face during half-time between Liverpool and Arsenal.

Keys vindicates Hatzidakis

Richard Keys followed in the footsteps of Roy Keane by targeting Andy Robertson over the incident involving him and Constantine Hatzidakis.

Professional Game Match Officials Limited released a statement during the match, which ended 2-2, before releasing another on Monday revealing Hatzidakis has been withdrawn as the FA investigate the incident. After Sunday afternoon’s incident, Keane described the Liverpool man as a ‘big baby’ and initially called out the full-back for teasing Hatzidakis. And now Keys has asked for more to be done on how players interact with officials

“What a game at Anfield. I know Arteta didn’t celebrate the end but I firmly believe it was a good point for his team,” he wrote on his weekly blog.

“We may never know exactly what happened at half-time when Robertson and his assistant Hatzidakis faced off. The pictures aren’t good for the linoleum, but I hope they escape criticism – just like Bruno Fernandes did for the same reason. “I said then that Fernandes should have been charged. The FA rightly launched the book against Mitrovic, but a week or two before that incident at the OT they released Fernandes after he arrested an assistant. You see. These things come back to you in mind.

“When Robertson approached Hatzikakis, perhaps the assistant was concerned for his safety? He would have every right to. How ironic that Liverpool paid the FA another £75,000 last week for failing to control their players during their recent match against City.

This comes after a total of £60,000 with Everton following the derby. In total, PL clubs have been fined £1.3m this season for refereeing abuses – Arsenal contributed £185,000.

“It has to stop. Robertson was barred from facing the assistant at halftime. I don’t often agree with Roy Keane, but he was right when he said Robertson acted “like a baby”. Careful, let’s not forget that Keane, Neville and co invented referee abuse. Just ask Andy D’Urso.

Virgil Van Dijk cooperates with McDonald’s

Virgil van Dijk appeared at the Liverpool ONE shopping center on Monday to host a Fun Football coaching session and a special reading of Little People’s BIG DREAMS® books for visiting children.

The event was held to highlight the need to support local communities more than ever and will allow McDonald’s to expand its ongoing commitment to local families in the UK. McDonald’s has committed to distributing more than 10 million* books through its Happy Readers program and offering more than two million hours of free Fun Football sessions by 2023.

Speaking about the event, Van Dijk said: “Liverpool is a special place and I’m thrilled to be able to give something back to the community that supports us so passionately.

“As McDonald’s, I strongly believe that every child should have the opportunity to learn and play and it is a subject close to my family and my heart and that is why I am here today.

“McDonald’s is helping families by giving them more options to access free books and free Fun Football workouts.

“Today alone, we’ve distributed over 3,000 books to children and, from what I’ve seen on the pitch and in the reading nook, we may have some budding authors and football superstars in the making.”

Chelsea hold Gavi talks

Chelsea have reportedly opened talks to sign young Barcelona star Gavi this summer. Spanish newspaper Diario AS reports that the Stamford Bridge club met with the youngster’s agent in Madrid to discuss a possible transfer.

The 18-year-old Spain international midfielder could be available for nothing if the dispute over the registration of the contract between his club and LaLiga is not resolved.

Liverpool have long been linked with a move from the Spanish international, who cannot be registered as a Barcelona first-team player.

Firmino linked to Real

Real Madrid are reportedly considering the transfer of Liverpool star Roberto Firmino at the end of the season. ECHO reported last month that the Brazil international has decided to retire with the Reds when his contract expires at the end of this season.

And now Spanish publication ‘El Nacional’ are reporting that Real Madrid president Florentino Perez is aware of Firmino’s situation and might try to convince the Brazilian to join the Santiago Bernabeu.

Bellingham wants to “finally” announce the future

Jude Bellingham will ‘finally’ announce his future amid interest from Liverpool and Real Madrid, according to a new report in Germany.

The 19-year-old England international is the number one target for Reds boss Jurgen Klopp, who is set to face 14-time European Cup winners Real Madrid as well as Manchester City.

And according to German publication Ruhr Nachrichten, Bellingham has ‘finally’ made up his mind about his future.
