Roberto Firmino’s reaction caught on camera as Liverpool fans chant for 11 minutes straight

Roberto Firmino will leave Liverpool in the summer after a successful spell at Anfield

Liverpool fans showed their love for Roberto Firmino when they serenaded the Brazilian during the second half against Leicester City.

The striker will close the chapter on his eight-year stay at Anfield at the end of the season when his contract with the Reds expires. It was confirmed in March that the 31-year-old will not sign an extension to continue his spell at Jürgen Klopp’s side, kicking off the countdown to his final redshirt bye.

Although he has been injured in recent weeks, the Brazilian will take part in the penultimate match of the season, Liverpool’s last home game of the season, against Aston Villa on Saturday.

At the King Power Stadium on Monday, the Anfield club climbed to within three points of the Foxes courtesy of Curtis Jones’ brace in the first half. Midway through the second half of the match, the Liverpool team who had traveled with them sang the chorus of the former Hoffenheim striker’s famous song.

For more than eight minutes, “Si Senor” echoed around the stadium as the cameras turned to the smiling South American alongside Darwin Nunez.

The chanting was quickly cut short when Trent Alexander-Arnold rolled superbly past Daniel Iversen to give the Reds a three-goal lead. A Liverpool victory would keep the pressure on Manchester United and Newcastle United in the race for the top four.

The Red Devils took a four-point lead with their victory over Wolves, but a comfortable win over the Foxes meant their cushion was short-lived.

Liverpool’s Asian Fanbase: A Football Love Affair

Liverpool’s popularity in the region is immense, with their previous friendly against Crystal Palace attracting over 50,000 enthusiastic spectators. The chance to connect with the club’s fanbase in Singapore, where nearly a fifth of the population identifies as Liverpool FC supporters, is an opportunity that Latty and the team simply couldn’t pass up.

‘Smart buy’: Micah Richards urges Liverpool to sign£50m player after he gets relegated

Ex-Man City ace, Micah Richards has urged Liverpool to sign James Ward-Prowse after Southampton were relegated over the weekend.

Micah Richards on James Ward-Prowse: “He will be a smart buy for someone and it would not be the worst decision in the world if Liverpool, who need a replacement for James Milner, or Newcastle tested the water when the window opens.” [@MailSport] pic.twitter.com/VkXRZtLAVa

It is now known that Klopp is looking to rebuild his midfield for the next season. And the Reds are already linked to a number of midfielders over the past few weeks.

After an underwhelming campaign and a few midfielders leaving the club this summer, Klopp is left with a gaping hole in his midfield for the next season.

Klopp’s men were tipped to be competing with Man City at the start of this season, as they have been doing for the past few seasons. However, they have not been on the same levels that they once were and are hoping to make a comeback the next season.

Even though the Reds haven’t been able to compete for any trophy, all hope is not lost yet. They could still finish in the top 4 after a brilliant run of form.

Should Liverpool get the relegated Ward-Prowse?

Micah Richards has told The Daily Mail that he thinks Liverpool should replace Milner with James Ward-Prowse.

He went on to say that the Englishman would be a ‘smart buy’ for Merseysiders.

“James Ward-Prowse will be low today. I have been in the situation as a captain when your club are relegated and the responsibility you feel is immense.

It is not something you get over easily and he certainly will not be putting himself first. But we have to be honest: he is a saleable asset for Southampton and plenty of clubs will be keen on him.

He will be a smart buy for someone and it would not be the worst decision in the world if Liverpool, who need a replacement for James Milner, or Newcastle tested the water when the window opens.”

Ward-Prowse, the Saints’ captain has been a standout performer for the club this season. However, it wasn’t enough as the club were relegated to the Championship after losing to Nottingham Forest this week.

However, Liverpool could grab the chance and get the 28-year-old who would suit Klopp’s gameplay. This wouldn’t be easy as he could be a wanted man after the relegation.

Moreover, he is one of the best free-kick takers in the Premier League. Also, he is just one goal behind David Beckham in all-time free-kick goals scored in the PL.

It’s unclear whether or not Liverpool would be interested in the £50 million midfielder though. Meanwhile, the likes of Tottenham already linked with a move for him.
