Erling Haaland was booed by his own fans after Scotland’s 2-1 win over Norway in Saturday’s Euro 2024 qualifier.

But the former Borussia Dortmund sharpshooter appeared as he entered the team bus and raised his right hand to wave to the crowd.

When they realized they weren’t going to meet their hero, the cheers from the fans turned to boos as they loudly booed the centre-forward.

Norway’s defeat to Scotland coincided with Haaland’s elimination towards the end of the second half, which took them top of the table.

Solbakken said: “He asked to be replaced. We kept him on the pitch for 10-12 minutes longer.
“The last few minutes he was on the pitch, we played with a man down. He was completely empty.”
“He’s only played 60 minutes a few times before. “We’re talking 30 degrees, it’s applied. It’s out of steam.”
