📰 Angelina Jolie Reflects on ‘Painful Events’ Leading to Brad Pitt Divorce

In newly filed court documents, Angelina Jolie has revealed that neither she nor her children have returned to their French estate, Château Miraval, since her separation from Brad Pitt in 2016. She described the property as deeply associated with the “painful events” leading up to their divorce, emphasizing its emotional significance as the place where they married and raised their family.

Jolie further disclosed that she relinquished control of both their Los Angeles and Miraval homes to Pitt to ease post-separation tensions, without receiving compensation. Despite relocating to a nearby home to ensure Pitt’s access to their six children, her savings remained tied up in the winery.

The legal dispute between the former couple continues, particularly over the sale of Jolie’s stake in Château Miraval to Tenute del Mondo in 2021. Pitt contested the sale, alleging it violated a mutual agreement requiring both parties’ consent. Jolie countered with accusations of Pitt waging a “vindictive war” against her. She also cited emotional trauma connected to the estate and claimed Pitt attempted to force a non-disclosure agreement related to alleged abuse in 2016, which she refused to sign.

Despite finalizing their divorce in December 2024, tensions remain high, with both sides blaming each other for continued family distress.
