🚨 The refereeing yesterday was absolutely scandalous.
Looking back, it’s hard to ignore some of Simon Hooper’s major decisions involving Manchester United this season:
🔴 vs Arsenal (Opening Premier League game)
A clear penalty for United denied. Saliba’s challenge on Matheus Cunha was reckless and dangerous — yet nothing was given. No proper punishment, no VAR correction. How?
🔴 vs Bournemouth
Semenyo literally grabbed Dalot by the throat. No red card. No serious sanction.
Meanwhile, Casemiro was sent off earlier in the season for a very similar incident. Where is the consistency?
🔴 Casemiro’s disallowed goal (Offside)
Margins so tight they needed lines and freeze-frames. And let’s be honest — if that decision was against United, many believe it would’ve stood. Instead, it was ruled out. Again.
And throughout these matches, the pattern feels the same:
Soft fouls given against United, while clear infringements on our players are waved away. Against West Ham, it seemed like every slight contact resulted in a whistle — but United had to fight through far worse challenges.
This isn’t about one mistake. Referees are human. Mistakes happen.
It’s about consistency and accountability.
When similar incidents produce completely different outcomes, fans are right to ask questions. VAR was introduced to reduce controversy — yet it feels like the debates are only getting louder.
Manchester United, as a club, should not take controversial officiating lightly. When there are recurring concerns involving the same official, it’s only fair to demand clarity and transparency from PGMOL.
Football deserves better. Players deserve consistency. Fans deserve fairness.
