The Dallas Cowboys secondary faces major projected depth chart adjustments ahead of their Week 3 clash against the Baltimore Ravens. Following severe defensive injuries suffered in Week 2, head coach Brian Schottenheimer and defensive coordinator Mike Zimmer must restructure their defensive backfield. With cornerback Cobie Durant and safety P.J. Locke sidelined for multiple weeks, alongside starting safety Malik Hooker who is recovering from a broken forearm, the team’s depth is being tested early.

Young talent must step up immediately. Rookie cornerback Shavon Revel Jr. is projected to start opposite DaRon Bland, moving up after a promising performance against Washington. Meanwhile, versatile defender Markquese Bell will likely step into a starting safety role, filling the void left by Locke’s foot injury. This leaves unheralded players like Ameer Speed and Alijah Clark as the primary backups.

This revamped, inexperienced secondary faces a daunting task against a potent Baltimore offense. Zimmer’s defensive scheme relies heavily on communication and disciplined coverage. Any blown assignments could prove disastrous against elite playmakers. The coaching staff must fast-track the preparation of their new starters to prevent big plays and maintain their early-season momentum during this critical stretch.
