Manchester United legend Paul Scholes thinks Jude Bellingham is better than anything football has seen from a player his age. Although Bellingham only celebrated his 20th birthday in June, he speaks with maturity beyond his years in interviews and it hasn’t taken him long to become the star man at Real Madrid since his £88million summer transfer.

Bellingham has made an outstanding first impression during his first few months with Madrid and rather remarkably, he’s already contributed 10 goals and three assists in 10 appearances in all competitions.

The midfielder was expected to enjoy a fulfilling career after his brilliant spell with Borussia Dortmund, but his effortless transition to life in La Liga has been impressive and he’ll be remembered as a player who got away at Old Trafford.

That’s because Bellingham was shown around Carrington in March 2020 as United wanted to sign him from Championship club Birmingham, but the youngster chose to sign for Dortmund instead and he’s never looked back.

Scholes recently discussed Bellingham and he boldly said he thinks he’s better than anything football has seen from someone his age.

“I think Jude Bellingham for his age and what he’s accomplished so far in his short career, he’s better than anything we’ve seen,” Scholes told TNT Sports.

“We [United] were very close to signing him, but he decided to go to Borussia Dortmund which looks the right thing from what’s happened over the past couple of years.

“It was a really brave move for him but he looks such a driven lad, such a determined lad, such a professional player with so much talent. It’s incredible but he’s got the temperament to go with it. Nothing seems to faze him.”
