Liverpool kept their hopes of a quadruple on track with an ultimately comfortable Europa League victory at Sparta Prague on Thursday.

Darwin Nunez scored twice while Alexis Mac Allister, Luis Diaz and Dominik Szoboszlai also netted to earn the Reds a 5-1 triumph in the round of 16 first leg in Czechia.

Liverpool will now look to move further clear at the top of the Premier League when they entertain second-placed Manchester City on Sunday. And here we look ahead to the changes Jurgen Klopp could make when his team are next in action.

There is one obvious major injury concern for Liverpool after Ibrahima Konate limped off on Thursday with what appeared at hamstring problem. In the likely event of the France international being ruled out, the versatile Joe Gomez would be favourite ahead of Jarell Quansah, who started in Prague, to line up at the heart of defence alongside skipper Virgil van Dijk with Joel Matip still out.

Gomez is also an option at right-back, although Conor Bradley will be on standby to step in should the England man be needed elsewhere given Trent Alexander-Arnold remains sidelined. There is intrigue at left-back, however, with Klopp facing a straight choice between fit-again duo Andy Robertson and Kostas Tsimikas.

Caoimhin Kelleher will be expected to continue in goal ahead of Adrian. Alisson Becker is likely to be out for at least another month.

Trio poised

With Szoboszlai having made another step forward in his return from a hamstring injury, it strengthens the possibility of the Hungarian lining up on the right of the midfield three with Mac Allister to his left and Wataru Endo the number six – which would be only the fourth time the trio, bought in the summer, have started a game together.

Ryan Gravenberch, Curtis Jones, Thiago Alcantara and Stefan Bajcetic remain out, meaning the alternatives are all younger options with Harvey Elliott the most experienced, although the 20-year-old could play further upfield.

Bobby Clark made his European debut from the bench in midweek while James McConnell and Matuesz Musialowski were on the bench

Salah starts?

The big call for Klopp is whether or not to start Mohamed Salah after the Egyptian made his comeback with a late cameo in Prague. Should he remain benched, then Cody Gakpo, who started on the right on Thursday, and Elliott are the other options.

Diaz and Nunez would appear certainties to line up on the left and down the middle respectively, although Gakpo can also offer cover in both positions. Youngsters Kaide Gordon and Lewis Koumas have featured of late, but Diogo Jota and Ben Doak are out and Jayden Danns was missing in midweek due to concussion protocols.
