Ryan Gravenberch bluntly warns FC Bayern Munich after breaking contract with Liverpool

Liverpool would follow Ryan Gravenberch, who left Ajax for Bayern Munich last summer but struggled to make an impact in his first season at Bayern.

Ryan Gravenberch has made it clear he’s growing increasingly impatient with his situation at Bayern Munich.

The 20-year-old only joined the German champions last summer but has struggled to play in a single Bundesliga game all season. Mirror Football understands Liverpool are tracking the midfielder and have already held talks with the player’s agent and his father.

There is believed to be a shared interest in a move to the Premier League, with Jurgen Klopp desperate for reinforcements in the middle of the park for next season. Gravenberch has an impressive pedigree, having won the prestigious Johan Cruyff Award, given to the Netherlands’ most talented player, two years ago. But his transfer to Bayern stalled his promising career after he missed out on the Netherlands’ World Cup squad due to a lack of chances. And Gravenberch has now gone public with his frustration, revealing that his role will have to change in the coming months.

He told VI: “At first, of course, I had to get used to it here. A new environment. Everything goes so much faster, sometimes the training sessions felt like competitions. But I have a feeling the habit has been behind me for a while.

Gravenberch adds: “Training and playing at the highest level for a year is beautiful and instructive. Even if it’s a game, it’s mostly training.

“That has to change next season so I really want to play weekly again. I haven’t spoken to the club management yet so wait and see what happens. But it is clear that this role does not meet my expectations.

Ryan Gravenberch has made it clear that he needs to play football more regularly

Thomas Tuchel, who replaced Julian Nagelsmmann last month, spoke positively of the Dutch star and hinted that his role could expand. “I see his qualities in training,” said Tuchel shortly after his appointment. “It’s hard to prove things now. He trains well. He is a number 8 who knows how to turn around and dribble very well. Now it’s about being patient. It’s about fighting to be there.

It has yet to result in a league start but changes could be on the way after Tuchel was torn in his depleted squad after losing to Mainz last time out. “We look exhausted,” admitted the former Chelsea manager. “We look like a team that has already played 80 games this season.”

Gravenberch will eagerly wait if their struggles give him more of a chance to impress before making a decision on his long-term future. BILD reported that the central midfielder couldn’t help but smile when asked about the rumored move to join Klopp on Merseyside.

The Reds boss was forced to rethink the transfer after it became clear his Bundesliga star Jude Bellingham was out of his price range. Klopp is expected to make a series of signings before the start of next season, with Naby Keita and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain leaving on free transfers.

Gravenberch currently earns £100,000 a week in Germany – after tax. That means Liverpool would have to put him on a £200,000-a-week contract just to meet those terms, but Mirror Football understands that won’t be a problem. CONTINUE READING…

Jamie Carragher divides fans with Wembley attitude ahead of FA Cup clash against Man Utd

Wembley hosted both semi-finals this weekend but it remains split as Jamie Carragher calls for the venue to be scrapped

London

Jamie Carragher has divided opinion by calling for the FA Cup semi-final to be kept away from Wembley. The London-based stadium, by far the biggest stadium in the country, has hosted the last four meetings between Manchester City and Sheffield United as well as Manchester United’s game against Brighton this weekend. Since the new Wembley opened in 2007, it has hosted both semi-finals and finals.

This has never been the case before and there have been calls for games to be played away from Wembley, particularly when it makes sense for fans of teams in the north of the country, travel arrangements have changed. often proving problematic.

Carragher pleaded for the semi-finals to be played elsewhere on social media, adding: “There are enough stadiums with over 60,000 fans to feed the fans. Two northern teams shouldn’t have to spend on travel at Wembley! It’s about paying from Wembley and nothing else.”

He also added possible venues: “You only need two stadiums for the semi-finals. Old Trafford are more than enough and if Utd reach the semi-finals they can play at Anfield next season who will hold 60,000!!”

A host of fans agree with the former player-turned-pundit, with one saying: “A lot better than they were at OT and Villa Park, but there’s also a lot of other stadiums to choose from Another added: ‘I miss the semi-finals at Villa Park’

Others feel the semi-final gives smaller clubs and their supporters a chance to benefit from the Wembley experience, as another said: “It’s good for some clubs who come to Wembley often, but what about the clubs that don’t? Another said: “I think about the lower division teams and how huge it is for them to go to Wembley. Don’t take that away

This season, three of the four semi-finalists have come from the north. Last season Liverpool edged out Manchester City in the last four but fans struggled to get past the competition due to construction work on Easter Saturday. He called for a more sensible approach
