Man Utd takeover news LIVE: Harry Kane addresses transfer speculation, De Gea new deal ‘agreed’, Mason Mount latest

MANCHESTER UNITED’s top target Harry Kane insists he is focused on representing England and then enjoying a summer break amid links with Manchester United.

Meanwhile, David de Gea has reportedly agreed a new deal at Old Trafford with reduced terms.

However, United officials have yet to sign off the contract with De Gea, whose current deal runs out in June.

Elsewhere, the Red Devils are very keen to land Chelsea star Mason Mount in the summer.

Antony injury update

Manchester United star Antony will “probably” recover from an ankle injury in time for Saturday’s FA Cup Final, according to manager Erik ten Hag.

The winger was taken off on a stretcher in tears during the Premier League clash against Chelsea.

Ten Hag said: “We think it is not too bad and probably he will be available.”

The Dutch tactician will need all the firepower he can get against Treble chasers Manchester City.

Ten Hag warning

Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag refused to guarantee David de Gea will be his No1 next season.

Ten Hag told The Times when asked if De Gea will be at United next season: “Yes, but I will not say he’ll always be my No1 because in a club like Man United there must be competition in all positions.

“You can’t do it with 11 players. It is impossible. You need double positions.”

Ten Hag added: “It’s not what I want, it’s more what top football demands nowadays.

“If you observe the biggest teams, you have to be capable of playing from the back, and use your keeper as a plus one in your back, otherwise it’s very simple for opponents to put you under pressure.

“He [De Gea] had to step up. In a number of games, he showed progression.”

United push for Mount

Manchester United are very keen to land Chelsea star Mason Mount in the summer.

According to Thee Telegraph, United will push for Mount’s signature in the upcoming transfer window.

The playmaker is widely expected to leave Stamford Bridge with the Red Devils’ boss Erik ten Hag needing to bolster his frontline.

The same report claims Ten Hag is confident he can beat Liverpool and Arsenal to the England international’s signature.

De Gea deal agreed

Manchester United star David de Gea has reportedly agreed a new deal with reduced terms.

However, United officials have yet to sign off the contract with De Gea, whose current deal runs out in June.

According to The Daily Mail, the Red Devils’ chiefs are refraining from finalising the deal for the time being.

But once the deal is completed, the Manchester giants are to allow Dean Henderson to go to Nottingham Forest for £20m.

United manager Erik ten Hag would prefer to spend £15m on a No2 than a replacement for the Spain international.

Mil deal ready

Manchester United could miss out on Lazio star Sergej Milinkovic-Savic as Liverpool could attempt to sign him this summer.

According to CalcioMercato, the Reds could sign Milinkovic-Savic for as little as £22.5million this summer.

The midfielder will enter the final year of his contract in June and he is not expected to renew.

The Serie A giants are willing to let the Serbia international go this summer in order to avoid losing him for free in 2024.

And the Merseysiders believe the 28-year-old could play an integral role in the squad next season.

Fans red rage

Manchester United made an historic change to their badge with fuming fans labelling the club “a disgrace”.

The third kit will feature just a devil rather than the club crest with designers Adidas opting for a minimalist look.

The jersey won’t feature the words Manchester United, the club’s badge layout or the ship which have been a permanent feature since the 1970s.

Instead, only a devil will appear on the shirt, which is off white in colour, and will be used when it is not possible to wear the club’s dark green away kit with white stripes.

De Gea to stay?

Manchester United star David de Gea is set to stay at Old Trafford despite his contract expiring next month, claims manager Erik ten Hag.

Ten Hag said after the win over Fulham: “I already said it last time so I’m repeating myself.

“We want David de Gea to stay and he wants to stay.

“We will find a way of understanding.”

New Man Utd kit

The new Manchester United home kit has reportedly been leaked on social media.

An advertising poster seems to have been spotted at an Adidas store in New York and is now circulating online.

But fans are divided on what could be the new design – with some blasting it as having “newly-promoted vibes”

Kane addresses transfer links

Tottenham superstar Harry Kane remained coy about his future amid rumours Manchester United are keen to sign him.

Kane said: “It is part and parcel of being a footballer especially when you are at the top of your game.

“I have focused on this season and helping the team as much as possible.

“I am just looking forward to a nice break and some games with England.”

quickly De Gea.

“He wouldn’t be for me, he’s not going to get Manchester United back winning trophies, he’s absolutely not.

“United were bound to improve from last year so this idea of everyone patting him on the head is just ridiculous.

“That’s his job.

“You wouldn’t keep him as a No2 would you? He wouldn’t want to be a No2 – he’s been the No1 for ten years.”

Keane wants Kane

Ex-Man Utd captain Roy Keane believes Harry Kane is the missing piece of the Red Devils puzzle

Asked who can challenge Manchester City for the title next season, Keane told Sky Sports: “I hope it’s United, obviously depending on the takeover and recruitment.

“They have to get a world-class striker but it’s going to be difficult because City are brilliant with a great, great manager.

“They’re going to be linked with lots of players but the one that would excite you really is Kane.”

“I think Declan Rice would, he would be a decent signing but in terms of the excitement and goalscoring, they’ve got to go for Kane but can you see Spurs selling to United? Very, very difficult.”

Keane verdict on Mount

Roy Keane has had his say on Manchester United being linked with signing Mason Mount

Keane told Sky Sports: “I wouldn’t be so sure about Mount.

Micah Richards challenged him on his comment.

And former Red Devils skipper continued: “He’s just gone off the boil a little bit. I know he can bounce back and he’s got qualities and I was raving about him a few years ago.

“He’s just gone missing the last year or two, had one or two injuries, the fact he can’t get in a bad Chelsea team.

“I wouldn’t be hanging my hat too much on him in terms of improving United and closing the gap, I think he’s a good player but would he improve United? I’m not so sure.”

Midfield change

With the rumours that Fred could leave Old Trafford this summer, there could be much change in the United midfield.

Marcel Sabitzer’s loan seems unlikely to be renewed.

There is interest in Scott McTominay but at the moment the club reportedly want to keep him.

Mason Mount, Declan Rice, Romeo Lavia and Alexis Mac Allister are all on Erik ten Hag’s watchlist.

Fred out the Reds

Fred could leave Man Utd this summer with Fulham keen.

Erik ten Hag could let the Brazilian go to raise funds for a big summer of spending.

United want to recruit a younger midfielder, according to reports.

Kitted out

The new Manchester United home kit has reportedly been leaked.

An advertising poster claimed to have been spotted at an Adidas store in New York has been circulated online.

But fans are divided on the rumoured new design – with some blasting it as having “newly-promoted vibes”.

De Gea ready for final fight

Man Utd players are motivated to win the FA Cup and stop bitter rivals Man City’s quest for the treble.

David De Gea said after the win over Fulham: “Tomorrow we recover and we start to prepare for [the final].

“We know it’s a big final, a special game, and the whole year we’ve been fighting to be in the position to win titles and we will try absolutely everything to try to win.”

Ten Hag wants signings… early

Erik ten Hag has been direct with club chiefs and asked for signings to be made swiftly.

This has reportedly made Man Utd contact Mason Mount and begin negotiations with the Chelsea ace.

They are supposedly close to agreeing personal terms with the player and will now need to reach a deal with the Blues.

Mount was seen looking emotional yesterday in potentially his last game at Stamford Bridge.

Clear and concise

Erik ten Hag is reportedly straightforward in his communication with his players.

His no-nonsense approach has proved popular amongst the squad this season, who respect his ways of working.

The Athletic report: “It’s one of the things that some players said they liked about him: short meetings with clear messages.”

Never rest

Erik ten Hag desire to improve Man Utd never stops.

The Athletic report that he does not like to give players time off.

They also claim there is a “culture of coaching” at the club as he is always looking to teach and make people better.

Ten Hag rallies fans

Erik ten Hag rallied supporters with an on-field speech ahead of the FA Cup final versus Man City.

He spoke to fans after the lap of appreciation at Old Trafford, saying: “I want to thank our players. They have had a great season. Thanks to the staff and I also want to thank you all. Thank you for your contribution and support.

“When I say these words, there’s still one games to go. I’m sure these players will give everything to beat Man City next week. We will give everything to bring the cup back to Old Trafford.”
