Man Utd takeover: Sheikh Jassim could be on verge of complete chaos today as deal nears finalization

As it stands, Sheikh Jassim currently appears to be the front runner in the race to buy Manchester United. And despite all the progress Erik ten Hag has made at Old Trafford, the Red Devils still look chaotic. Especially if you look at their transfer window so far…

In Liverpool they managed to secure a deal for World Cup winner Alexis Mac Allister.

Chelsea have announced the arrival of Christopher Nkunku from RB Leipzig and Nicolas Jackson is about to move from Villarreal.

Manchester City were quick to secure the signing of Mateo Kovacic. And then there’s United.

The Red Devils are credited with trying to secure an early deal in the form of Mason Mount.

The Chelsea star is ready to move to Old Trafford and is still hoping that an agreement can be reached between the two clubs.

But right now, that deal seems to be on the back burner.

United are now happy that the world knows they want Moises Caicedo from Brighton. Without a doubt, he would be an exciting new signing.

But with the club operating on a tight budget this summer, it’s hard to imagine a move for the Ecuadorian international.

United rightly complains that they are the only ones subject to a special tax. After all, Manchester City signed Kovacic for a cheap transfer fee.

However, the same chaos as ever reigns in the transfer market. They can’t afford Caicedo without sacrificing a world-class striker, which is probably an even bigger priority.

And again, United are trailing their rivals when it comes to signings.

Then there’s also their problem with eliminating players.

United are willing to listen to up to six people this summer to raise extra summer transfer funds.

Harry Maguire, Fred, Anthony Martial, Scott McTominay, Anthony Elanga and Donny van de Beek are all in the market. But nearly a month after the club’s FA Cup final loss to Manchester City, no one has asked to join either.

If United are unable to switch players, they will be stuck with the £100m budget they are working on.

And it will set the club back even further as they seek to win over City next season.

As mentioned above, Sheikh Jassim seems to be the favorite in the race to buy United.

Still, he may have some work to do if he hopes for a quick fix to the current issues behind the scenes. The takeover situation is raising heavy clouds as the Glazers have yet to confirm their intentions.

Sheik Jassim has submitted five bids, with Sir Jim Ratcliffe having submitted three of his own so far.

There’s even a chance the Glazers will stay, as companies like Elliot Management and Carlyle Group are willing to offer minority stakes.
