Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford has been named in the 23-man travelling squad to face FC Copenhagen.

Rashford failed a late fitness test prior to the Fulham game and he watched that clash from the stands at Craven Cottage, but he trained with the main group on Tuesday morning and will travel to Copenhagen.

Speaking ahead of the Fulham match, Ten Hag was asked whether Rashford would have started if he’d been available after attending a birthday party following the derby defeat to Manchester City and he said yes and suggested the matter was closed.

Alejandro Garnacho started in the absence of Rashford on Saturday afternoon and Ten Hag is set to make a decision on who starts on the left wing between that pair. There were no other surprises in the travelling squad after the MEN revealed the training squad on Tuesday morning.

Victor Lindelof is available for selection again after missing the trip to Fulham with an illness and Kobbie Mainoo has not trained or travelled with the first team due to his involvement with the Under-19s.

United’s U19s need to win against Copenhagen in the UEFA Youth League to have hope of progressing from their group and Mainoo is set to start that game as his return from an ankle injury is managed.

There was room in the first-team travelling squad for youngster Omari Forson, though, who also travelled on the USA pre-season tour.

The 23-man travelling squad:

Goalkeepers: Onana, Bayindir, Heaton.

Defenders: Dalot, Evans, Lindelof, Maguire, Reguilon, Varane, Wan-Bissaka.

Midfielders: Amrabat, Eriksen, Fernandes, Hannibal, McTominay, Mount.

Forwards: Garnacho, Antony, Forson, Hojlund, Martial, Pellistri, Rashford.
