Ex-Man United star Jesse Lingard set for shock transfer to South Korean club
Former Manchester United star Jesse Lingard could soon be playing in South Korea
As reported by Sky Sports, former Manchester United star Jesse Lingard has verbally agreed to a two-year deal with the South Korean club, FC Seoul. It is also being reported that his deal has an option for one additional year.
The 31-year-old star left Manchester United back in 2022 when Nottingham Forest made an expensive bet and gave Lingard £115k per week. However, it did not work out for either party as after just 20 appearances and one season at the club, the English midfielder was cut.
Lingard also had the option to go to West Ham United. His loan spells with the club during his time with the Red Devils were impressive. In 16 appearances for West Ham, the attacking midfielder recorded nine goals and five assists.
Jesse Lingard’s career has clearly not gone according to plan. He was once hailed as one of the best midfielders in the Premier League. However, his form faltered and the player quickly found himself scrambling for teams.
It would not be wrong to say things have quickly gone downhill for the 31-year-old ever since he left Old Trafford. However, playing in South Korea will be a great opportunity for Jesse, who has been rearing to go.
Moreover, if he performs well and looks like his former self, a Premier League comeback just might be in the books.
