Calls for a red card
Jurgen Klopp fumes at the referee for a foul by Moises Caicedo on Ryan Gravenberch and the Liverpool player goes down needing treatment.
No card is shown to the Chelsea player but the Reds boss appears to have wanted a red to be produced.
The challenge was late and on the ankle but the consensus seems to be that it was not intentional and was unfortunate rather than malicious.

Triple block by Liverpool
Chelsea find space on the right and Raheem Sterling is picked out in the centre.
The England forward takes a touch in the box rather than hit it first time and is closed down.
The ball breaks to Cole Palmer who, from eight yards out, draws a point-black save from Caoimhin Kelleher.
Still, there’s a chance for Chelsea as the ball drops to Nicolas Jackson but a combination of the keeper and two defenders throw themselves in front of the third effort.

Jackson runs past the ball
Liverpool build pressure on the edge of the Chelsea third but the Blues clear the ball and look to break away.

Chelsea must put their January blues behind them
The last meeting between these clubs resulted in a 4-1 win for Liverpool at Anfield on January 31.
It’s a result that Chelsea must quickly forget that game and focus on their seven wins in their last 12 matches, of which the defeat by the Reds was one of only three defeats.

Klopp and Poch have previous in a grand final
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp and Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino have met once before in a major final.
The latter was manager of Tottenham at the time and came out on the losing side in the 2019 Champions League final.
Mohamed Salah and Divock Origi scored the goals to seal a 2-0 win for Liverpool.
It was the middle of a remarkable run for the Reds and Klopp, who finished runners-up in 2018 and 2022.

No Salah for the Reds
Mohamed Salah, Darwin Nunez and Dominik Szoboszlai were all to be given late fitness tests by Liverpool ahead of the final but have all failed to make the squad for the final.
The Reds were already without Curtis Jones, Alisson Becker, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Diogo Jota.
It’s a substantial list of significant names sitting in the stands for this one.
