MEDICAL ONGOING”: Reliable journalist confirms Manchester United have reached agreement for midfield transfer

Man Utd have sanctioned the exit of a midfielder in the final week of the summer transfer window.

Hannibal Mejbri will undergo a medical at Burnley on Monday ahead of his proposed exit from Manchester United in the final week of the summer transfer window.

United have been open to allowing the Tunisian midfielder to leave this summer and it is understood they have finally reached an agreement which will effectively see him depart for good.

Manchester World understand Hannibal will join Burnley on an initial loan deal and the Championship side will have an obligation to buy him permanently next year. United will include a hefty sell-on clause in the agreement and could even have a future buyback option.

Taking to social media on Monday, Fabrizio Romano also provided an update on the deal. “Burnley have reached verbal agreement to sign Hannibal Mejbri from Manchester United,” he posted. “Medical tests taking place today as club to club deal done on loan with mandatory buy clause. Almost there.”

Burnley are understood to be impressed by Hannibal’s experience, with the youngster having already spent a season on loan in the Championship with Birmingham City, while he has also represented the Tunisian national side on 27 occasions.
Hannibal spent the second-half of last season on loan with La Liga side Sevilla, who opted against triggering an option to sign him permanently for €20million this summer. That deal also included a fixed buy-back clause and a sell-on clause, two clauses which could also be included in any deal with Burnley.
United agreed to sign Hannibal from Monaco five years ago in a deal worth €10million, beating both Tottenham Hotspur and Leicester City to his signature. He has made 13 first-team appearances during his time at the club, including an impressive performance against Burnley at Turf Moor last season.
