Extended Highlight Crystal Palace 0-0 Liverpool
Half-time: Crystal Palace 0-0 Liverpool
Darren England whistles and the two groups of players leave.
It’s a surprise that this game is still scoreless. Palace probably clouded the odds, but most were created for them by Liverpool.
Jürgen Klopp runs towards the tunnel. Lots to think about.

Crystal Palace 0-0 Liverpool
45′: Liverpool look very nervous in defence. Joel Matip misses the ball under pressure and Allison has to fend off Mateta.
How many times will Liverpool get into trouble?

Crystal Palace 0-0 Liverpool
41 minutes: both teams have now hit the woodwork! This is a much clearer opportunity than Jota’s previously. Schlupp beat Trent Alexander-Arnold to the ball and moved on for Jean-Philippe Mateta. He puts too much on it and blocks the top of the bar and climbs over it.
A great occasion.
Crystal Palace 0-0 Liverpool
A good spell this for the Eagles. The ball fell to Olise in the penalty area and he teased another ball towards the penalty spot. Keita has to face it. The Liverpool midfielder stretched out a leg and shot just wide of goal. He could have gone anywhere.
Liverpool appear to be responding to that spell with the escape of Mohamed Salah. He is slowed down and can only shoot directly at Guaita. Crystal Palace 0-0 Liverpool
37 minutes: Olise looks like the most likely man to make anything happen for Palace so far.
He put in a tantalizing cross from the right, which was excruciating in front of his team-mates, including Jeffrey Schlupp, who got to the near post.
One touch was enough.
Crystal Palace 0-0 Liverpool
35 minutes: a few sloppy minutes. Liverpool may need to change something as soon as Naby Keita is on the cutting edge here. He has already received a yellow card and has since committed two more fouls.
Crystal Palace 0-0 Liverpool
29 minutes: Liverpool are definitely denied a certain goal by… er Jordan Henderson.
Mo Salah passed the ball to Alexander-Arnold and he deflected it for a corner kick.
He goes in until he crashes into Henderson and goes out for a goal kick. The local audience was happy. As a neutral, it was pretty funny.
Crystal Palace 0-0 Liverpool
28 mins: Diogo Jota falls under a move-style challenge from Nathaniel Clyne, who is given a yellow card for the palace man.
What is even more concerning for Palace is that Liverpool have a free-kick just outside the box.
Crystal Palace 0-0 Liverpool
24 minutes: The two teams are now close after free kicks! Olise’s performance is superb and Marc Guehi head wide. A great opportunity for the hosts there.
Crystal Palace 0-0 Liverpool
Naby Keita is the first name in the book after dragging Michael Olise back.
Crystal Palace 0-0 Liverpool
21′: Crystal Palace are disappointed when Cody Gakpo wins a free-kick after going down to the challenge of Michael Olise.
It looked like he had won the ball…
Robertson’s free kick found Joel Matip, who knocked him down and lifted a ball to the far post and Jota. It’s an awkward angle and Jota’s header grazes the post and swings away for a goal kick.
Crystal Palace 0-0 Liverpool
18 min: Almost a goal on his return to Diogo Jota’s starting lineup.
The ball lands Jota on the edge of the box after Andy Robertson’s cross is half cleared. Jota connects well, but it’s right next to Guaita.
You feel somewhere else and it would have been 1-0. What Liverpool Jota has been missing this season. Tonight is his first Premier League start since October
Crystal Palace 0-0 Liverpool
13min: What are Liverpool up to? Allison plays the ball wide, suddenly becomes very frantic. Alexander-Arnold eventually passes back towards his own goal and Mateta intercepts.
His chip attempt was blocked for a corner
Crystal Palace 0-0 Liverpool
10 minutes: First real sight of a goal for Liverpool and Mohamed Salah. He is well found by Gakpo on the right side of the surface.
Salah tries to hit the near post with his shot, but can’t find the target.
Crystal Palace 0-0 Liverpool
8 mins: Ouch. Cody Gakpo takes a kick to the shin after the ball was played to Andy Robertson. Liverpool wanted a free-kick but Darren England played an advantage that didn’t come to anything. A painful one for Gakpo, but he looks good.
Crystal Palace 0-0 Liverpool
6 mins: Early applause from Palace loyalists as Trent Alexander-Arnold’s cross ball goes straight out of play.
Palace are unable to build an attack from the resulting throw as Jordan Ayew is sidelined after the ball goes loose.
Crystal Palace 0-0 Liverpool
3 minutes: Sizzling atmosphere in Selhurst Park. Imagine this isn’t a stadium a visiting team is dying to visit for an evening kick-off. Cody Gakpo, playing in the middle of Liverpool’s attacking three, is trying to get his side moving.
Liverpool train collapses after giving a free kick
Kick-off: Crystal Palace 0-0 Liverpool
The whistle sounds and Crystal Palace kicks off the game.
