Gabby Agbonlahor names Premier League flop XI  and includes Manchester United stars

It’s not hard to guess which average Brit has played a flop Premier League XI.
I’m always looking for something to talk about on talkSPORT radio and it’s usually bottom of the drawer, in terms of football coverage.
I understand that many people listen to the radio station daily to catch up on sports news, and for this reason alone it is a useful service.

Some of the worst ABU views you see every week come from talkSPORT presenters. If it’s not Simon Jones and Graeme Souness getting in the way, they’ll have Gabby Agbonlahor play the class clown. Agbonlahor decided to pick a flop XI from the Premier League and name stars who he says have endured nightmarish campaigns. It includes two Manchester United players…

Agbonlahor’s flop in the Premier League… XI: Danny Ward; Marc Cucurella, Davinson; Youri Tielemans, Fabinho, Weston McKennie, Joao Felix; Mykhailo Mudryk, Wout Weghorst, Antony and Richarlison.

Addressing the strikers, Agbonlahor said: “I will start with Mudryk, a very bad season and zero goals in the Europa League.” He must be in this flop of the season. Weghorst, a very, very poor signing for Man United, 17 games and zero goals in the Premier League. He just wasn’t good enough, he was like a headless chicken, the way he ran and pressured but posed no threat of attack.

“My vice-captain is Antony, very, very bad this season, 25 appearances and four goals. The best thing he did this season was that sweep and everyone cheered after that, I don’t know why. And my captain is Richarlison. Probably one of the worst signings in Premier League history. 27 appearances, one goal”.

While he fully understands Weghorst’s criticisms, it’s a shame to see pundits fail to grasp the fact that Antony’s price has nothing to do with the player himself. The Brazilian has had a good season in terms of getting into the Premier League and we can all see that there is a real talent farm on the right wing.
