Gary Lineker now have a different view on the Manchester United striker Rasmus Hojlund as he made a big impression early on
Manchester United claimed a vital victory over Burnley at Turf Moor on Saturday night to end a difficult week for the Red Devils.
Rasmus Hojlund did not score but once again showed promise and demonstrated the movement required of a top striker.
Diogo Dalot’s cross came within inches of the Dane’s boot but it flew across the box.
The 20-year-old striker’s movement is likely to be something United fans will have to get used to, with Anthony Martial never really making the moves required of the striker.
After a promising start to his career at Old Trafford, it seems pundits’ views on the £64million player have indeed changed following a promising start, which included a goal at Allianz Arena. Gary Lineker recently spoke on Match Of The Day and said:
“I watched him the first two or three games he played. He has only scored one goal so far – and that was in Europe – but to me it looks like he will score. I like his movements.
Receiving such glowing praise from the former Barcelona striker is a huge positive for Hojlund and shows he is winning over the analysts.
Hojlund proved everyone wrong
Lineker’s opinion is not always in favor of the young striker.
“Maybe they see him as a more long-term player, but I don’t believe he will make a difference for them,” Lineker told The Sun when the deal was confirmed. It appears Lineker’s change of heart is part of a wider acceptance that the 20-year-old striker appears to be the real deal and has settled in well at Old Trafford.
Hojlund is yet to prove himself but has certainly had a promising start to his career at Old Trafford.
Erik ten Hag deserves praise for his confidence in the young striker and the signs are certainly good so far for the young Dane.
