Latest injury update and team news from Liverpool and Fulham: seven out, Diogo Jota doubt and one suspended

Latest news on the Liverpool and Fulham team and final injury ahead of the Premier League clash at Anfield on Wednesday, where the Reds can gain some ground in the top four.

Jürgen Klopp will face new injury concerns ahead of Liverpool’s next game.

After the dramatic end to Sunday’s 4-3 win over Tottenham, the Reds have just a few days of rest before returning to action in the Premier League against Fulham on Wednesday. This is a rescheduled clash that should have been played in March but was postponed due to their opponents’ involvement in the FA Cup.

Despite beating Tottenham at the weekend, Liverpool are still a big outsider to finish in the top four. But with five games left to play this season, mathematically that’s still the highs.

For Liverpool to play in the Champions League next season, you might imagine that winning all five of their remaining games is a necessity. It all starts on Wednesday against Fulham.

Klopp will be without some of his key players for the Anfield match. He also confirmed in his press conference on Tuesday that the selection he has suffered from a new injury. Diogo Jota, who scored the winning goal against Tottenham, is dubious with epidural. Roberto Firmino and Naby Keïta, while both in training, are not fit enough to face Fulham, while Calvin Ramsay and Stefan Bajčetić are the long-term absentees.

“Bobby is out, Diogo is struggling,” Klopp told reporters. “With Spurs he couldn’t train, but he played and hasn’t trained since then. It’s a doubtful case, I hope he recovers.” Bobby is training and looking good. Much the same for Naby.”

For Fulham, Marco Silva will have to do without up to four players for the duel against Liverpool. Two of them are out for the rest of the season with injury, as was Wednesday’s game.

Manager Silva has confirmed that defender and USMNT star Tim Ream will be out with a broken arm. Former Manchester United midfielder Andreas Pereira is also out with a broken leg. Former Arsenal striker William is also doubtful with a hamstring injury but still has a chance he can play. But star striker Aleksandar Mitrović is unavailable as he continues to serve his ban after being suspended for eight games last month.

Liverpool.com says: If Liverpool were without Diogo Jota it would be a huge blow for Jurgen Klopp and the rest of the squad. The Portugal international has started to regain his best form since returning from injury in February and his goal on Sunday after coming off the bench showed just how influential he can be at crucial moments.

As for the other players, it will be a disappointment that Roberto Firmino is absent. He now has a maximum of two Anfield games left before he sets off as free agent this summer, and that’s if he’s in time to face Brentford on Saturday.
