Liverpool vs Chelsea line up for today’s match

Jurgen Klopp vows to make changes at Liverpool this summer but insists his departure from the club will NOT be one of them... as the Reds boss hits back at claims he is 'too loyal' to his players

Jurgen Klopp has called Darwin Nunez and Trent Alexander-Arnold on the bench as Liverpool host Chelsea this lunchtime.
After a volatile season, the German switched sides against Wolves last time out at Molineux, with the Reds keeping at least one way open for Silverware.

Klopp has used youngsters before against Chelsea and started Harvey Elliott against the Blues at Anfield last season.

Elliott scored the winner against Wolves and start again, while impressive young midfielder Stefan Bajcetic is also in the squad alongside Naby Keita and Thiago.
James Milner starts at right-back with Alexander-Arnold among the substitutes, with Elliott in the front three as Nunez is also out. Joe Gomez and Ibrahima Konate form the central defending duo, Virgil van Dijk is again absent.

Liverpool XI: Alisson, Milner, Gomez, Konaté, Robertson, Keita, Bajcetic, Thiago, Salah, Gakpo, Elliott.

Replacements: Kelleher, Fabinho, Henderson, Alexander-Arnold, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Tsimikas, Jones, Matip, Nunez.

Chelsea: Kepa, Chalobah, Badiashile, Thiago Silva, Cucurella, Jorginho (c), Gallagher, Ziyech, Mount, Hall, Havertz.
