Manchester United transfer news LIVE Latest updates from Sheikh Jassim and Sir Jim Ratcliffe plus Harry Kane

All the latest Manchester United news, views and transfer updates from the Manchester Evening News.

Manchester United return to the Premier League on Sunday having secured the top four places and a place in the Champions League next season, following a stunning 4-1 win over Chelsea.

The Reds take on Fulham at Old Trafford in their final home game of the season, knowing that three more points would lift Newcastle United into third place.

Erik ten Hag will therefore have just one Wembley FA Cup final against Manchester City between him and the summer transfer window, with a number of goals already set by the United boss.

United may have to change their plans to bring in a new centre-forward, as the club now assume Tottenham Hotspur will not part ways with Harry Kane. The England captain was Ten Hag’s preferred choice, although United are also eyeing Napoli’s Victor Osimhen, Benfica’s Goncalo Ramos, Ajax’s Mohammed Judus, Atalanta’s Rasmus Hojlund and Eintracht Frankfurt’s Randal Kolo Muani.

It comes as the club’s recovery continues to progress. A few reports last week said a preferred bidder was due to be announced on Friday, although no update was released.

United considering other attacking targets

United do not expect Tottenham to sell Harry Kane this summer.

United have not given up on their interest in Kane but are actively exploring other options as Spurs chairman Daniel Levy has indicated Kane will not be sold.

If Kane, 29, is to force a Spurs departure he may have to fuss again, having made his intention to leave Spurs clear two years ago in an infamous interview with Gary Neville.

I played with Ronaldinho – now I’m helping future stars

Raducio King opens his phone to show video of a smiling and impressed Paul Scholes standing and applauding a goal he scored.

Elsewhere on his phone are images of King playing against Ronaldinho and legends like Ryan Giggs and Hernan Crespo. His eyes light up when he mentions Ronaldinho and admits it was “an honor” to share a place with him in India.

King just sat down after leading a coaching session. He leans forward and prepares to talk about his journey, which started in the Caribbean and ended in the Netherlands before finally taking him to Manchester. “Not bad, huh,” he said before hanging up his phone.

United ‘Name Top Fee’ for Mount

Manchester United are reportedly raising Chelsea midfielder Mason Mount’s transfer fee to a maximum of £60million. The England star could leave the Stamford Bridge side this summer, with just 12 months left on his contract.

United manager Erik ten Hag is reportedly keen to sign Mount, although reports have suggested the Dutchman won’t be tempted to spend “silly money” on the Chelsea star.

United ‘name top fairy’ for Mount

Manchester United could be disappointed in their bid to bring Harry Kane to Old Trafford this summer.

The club now understand that Tottenham Hotspur will not sell the forward and the England captain may have to push for a transfer from the London club if he wishes to leave.

Kane was expected to be United manager Erik ten Hag’s main transfer target for the next summer window, but it looks like they may now be forced to pursue other goals.

United stars send messages to Antony

Manchester United players have sent messages of support to Antony following the injury he picked up against Chelsea on Thursday night.

The Brazilian fell in the first half and appeared clearly ill before being carried off on a stretcher. Reds boss Erik ten Hag later said the winger’s injury was “serious”, although the club has yet to provide any further updates.

But that hasn’t stopped Antony’s teammates from sharing their support with him ahead of what could be a spell on the sideline.
