Wishful thinking' - Dortmund breaks silence with an update on Liverpool target Jude Bellingham

Jude Bellingham

Liverpool believe they are among the “favorites” to complete a £130million signing and they will throw “everything” at te11he potential deal, it has been claimed.
Liverpool see themselves as “one of the first” to land Jude Bellingham and they will “go all out” to try and lure the Borussia Dortmund star to Anfield, CBS journalist Ben Jacobs has told GiveMeSport.

Reds boss Jurgen Klopp has bolstered his squad by completing the £44m signing of Cody Gakpo ahead of the January transfer window, but he will have another opportunity to bolster his squad this summer.

Liverpool Transfer News – Jude Bellingham

According to Sky in Germany, Liverpool remain Bellingham’s favorites ahead of next season via Sky Sports.

The report suggests the Merseyside giants are ahead of Real Madrid and Manchester City in the race to sign the central midfielder. But the trio of clubs now face even more competition as Newcastle United and Manchester United are also chasing a deal, while Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain are no longer in the running to meet Dortmund’s demands, as they are about to ask at least £130m for Bellingham.

It has emerged that Liverpool are looking to monetize the England international by selling some of their fringe players in the summer transfer window.

Respected journalist Pete O’Rourke recently told GiveMeSport that the Reds are playing a dangerous game by aiming to sign Bellingham and not looking to sign an alternate central midfielder last month.

What did Ben Jacobs say about Bellingham?

Jacobs understands Liverpool feel they are among the main contenders to sign Bellingham when the transfer window reopens. The reporter expects Fenway Sports Group to top up the money and do whatever it takes to lure Dortmund into the deal.

Jacobs told GiveMeSport:

“Jude Bellinghamis here for Liverpool and they see themselves as one of the frontrunners.

“I don’t think we can rule out Manchester City entering the race more seriously in the coming weeks. They are later in the process than Liverpool or Real Madrid, but they are the three main contenders.

“If Liverpool are successful, we know Bellingham are a prime target, so I expect them to throw everything there.”

Would Bellingham be a marquee signing for Liverpool? There is no doubt that Bellingham would improve Liverpool’s current options as he has averaged more goals, assists and shots per 90 minutes this season than Thiago Alcantara, Jordan Henderson, James Milner and Naby Keita, according to FBref .

Newcastle right-back Kieran Trippier described the teenager as “world-class” and “incredible” and went on to stress that Klopp shouldn’t think twice before trying to get a deal done.

Jude Bellingham

Bellingham has scored over 40 goals in his Dortmund career, but he also contributes defensively.

SofaScore stats show the 19-year-old averaged 3.2 tackles per game during the 2022 World Cup.

Bukayo Saka was the only England teammate to achieve a better WhoScored average match rating than Bellingham’s 7.58 and he would be an exciting addition to the Liverpool squad.
