Erling Haaland and Liverpool transfer request filed amid Man City allegations as Inter ‘want’ Reds ace
Media Digest: Man City forward Erling Haaland could have an impact on Liverpool this summer, while the Reds could lose a Jürgen Klopp favorite to Inter Milan.
Jamie Carragher on Jordan Henderson
“I’m going back to Jordan Henderson,” Carragher told The Overlap. “Right now he’s getting a lot of criticism from the Liverpool fans. Henderson has done his job, he’s 21, 32 and he’s won everything. However he shouldn’t be playing every week now.” “It’s because he’s not in the team at the moment due to bad team management, but he shouldn’t be playing week after week where he is now at 32 or 33. He has to play there because of the bad team management.”
Erling Haaland transfer fee claimed
Manchester City could lose Erling Haaland to Real Madrid this summer, according to Mundo Deportivo, with the Spanish outlet reporting that the La Liga champions are planning a move for the Norwegian striker.
Speculation over a number of Manchester City players is set to surface amid Premier League allegations against Etihad earlier this week, with Haaland a high profile name previously linked with Real Madrid.
However, the report in Spain doesn’t just claim that Haaland could be on his way. They also say it could have a positive impact on Real Madrid’s pursuit of Jude Bellingham (and therefore negative on Liverpool) – as the two have known each other well since their time at Borussia Dortmund. Liverpool, according to the report, could struggle to attract Bellingham if they run out of Champions League places, as they seem likely at this stage, which seems like a sensible point, but Haaland could make the Reds’ transfer plans yet again. more difficult.
Liverpool striker Roberto Firmino has been ‘agitated under his nose’ by Inter Milan, reports Italy’s Gazzetta dello Sport, with Romelu Lukaku’s future in doubt.
Ideally, Inter would like to keep Lukaku on another loan from Chelsea, but if they can’t keep him for next season, Firmino is an option they could explore, suggesting Firmino’s agent could have offered the player services.
Inter and Chelsea have reportedly agreed to talk about Lukaku after the Champions League Round of 16 sidelined. At this point, according to the report, a decision would be made with Firmino.

The Liverpool player who might solve their offensive problems returns
Liverpool’s midfield problems have been discussed at length on this site and many other sites, but I don’t think the problem ends there. They still have a lot to do in attack, because things are not going well on that side either. They haven’t scored the goals they’re used to and there’s obviously a reason for that.
Injuries played their part. Luis Diaz and Diogo Jota have struggled with their fitness this season. But the form also played a major role. Their new addition, Darwin Nunez, didn’t work out as he expected. At least not yet. And their talisman, Mohamed Salah, is a shadow of himself in the Premier League, things haven’t worked out for them but all hope is not lost.
Diogo Jota returned to full squad training on Thursday, just when the team needed him.
Liverpool should change the system to include Jota in the center to help Salah and Nunez
I think a drift from a 4-3-3 would go far in favor of Liverpool. Whether it’s a 4-2-3-1 or a 4-4-2 is a different case, but a change is needed.
I think if Liverpool go for a 4-2-3-1 with Jota as a central attacking midfielder right behind Jota, who sometimes acts as a makeshift striker, it could help Nunez a lot and give the team enough of firepower up front to push their chance to change the door.
Playing Jota would free up more space for Salah and Jota’s skills are exceptional on their own. It would take more coverage from a double pivot from Thiago and possibly Bajcetic, and I think that could work at least in the short term. However, they should definitely give it a try, because whatever they’re currently doing doesn’t quite work either.

Liverpool are reviving long-term interest in Napoli midfielder Piotr Zielinski.
Il Mattino says Liverpool are interested in Zielinski.
The 28-year-old has long been a target for the Reds having opted for Napoli over Anfield in 2016 when he moved from Empoli to Napoli.
His contract with the Serie A leaders still has 18 months left, but the Italian newspaper says his salary seems “too important” given the salary structure set by the Napoli president. According to the outlet, if a deal cannot be reached in the Italian top flight, his future can only lie in the Premier League and Jurgen Klopp’s side have been mooted.
