The real reason why Manchester United turned down £7m Wonderkid exit may just surface

Manchester United have turned down the opportunity to send Facundo Pellistri on loan. The reason for this decision may have been revealed.

Sheffield United were one of the teams disappointed when Manchester United chose to keep Facundo Pellistri during the transfer window.

Athletic reports that Erik ten Hag has opted to keep Pellistri after belated negotiations.

There is hope that Pellistri can start fighting for a place in the first team. He has never started a Premier League game since moving to the £7m club in 2020.

The problem of the winger at Old Trafford

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag may have acknowledged the problems the club could face in midfield.

Jadon Sancho was dropped from the squad this weekend for reasons that Sancho himself opposed.

Somehow, Ten Hag thinks Pellistri deserves more to be on his team, even though he hasn’t recruited him yet.

Other problems could also arise for Antony, who is struggling to find his form. It would be stupid if Ten Hag decided to do without Pellistri. He doesn’t feel compassionate enough to lend when needed and with good reason.

Pellistri looks brilliant in every appearance and many United fans would love to see him given the chance.

He doesn’t complain despite his lack of action in the game, although he’s probably right to complain at this point in having seen so little playtime.

There could be opportunities to come, especially if Sancho and Antony’s situation worsens. Pellistri on international mission

Pellistri is currently on international duty with Uruguay as the nation prepare to kick off their World Cup qualifying campaign.

They are doing so with a new era in mind, which has seen Edinson Cavani finally axed from the national team along with Luis Suarez.

New boss Marcelo Bielsa is willing to put his faith in youth, and Pellistri is expected to play a prominent part.
