Why Jürgen Klopp’s situation could prevent Kylian Mbappé move to Anfield

In the world of football, where conjecture and gossip are as prevalent as corner kicks, Kylian Mbappé, the star player for Paris Saint-Germain, is the subject of the most recent rumors. The French forward’s contract expires at the conclusion of this season, and he has been linked to a possible move to Liverpool. Real Madrid, who is the clear favorite to sign him, is also in the running for his signing.

Former Liverpool player Glen Johnson has said that the club’s prospects of acquiring Mbappé may be hampered by Jürgen Klopp’s upcoming exit from Anfield. Because his mother, Fayza Lamari, is an avid Liverpool supporter, the youthful star has been linked to several moves to the Reds in recent years.

However, the financial aspects of any deal with PSG for Mbappé have always been seen as a significant hurdle. The Ligue 1 giant has consistently demanded an astronomical transfer fee for the player, even when he has expressed his intention to see out his contract and leave as a free agent. Even if there will be no transfer fee this summer, there will be plenty of other enormous costs involved.

Mbappé’s contract with PSG is due to expire in six months, and it is anticipated that he will leave the French powerhouse in pursuit of fresh challenges in a new league. Despite this, Johnson speculates that Klopp’s decision to leave Liverpool could thwart any potential deal for Mbappé.

When asked by Betfred if Klopp’s exit had accelerated rumors of Mbappé moving to Real Madrid, Johnson responded ambiguously. He acknowledged that Real Madrid’s iconic status would always draw big names, irrespective of who their manager might be. He further speculated that the uncertainty over Liverpool’s next manager might dissuade Mbappé from taking the risk of moving to Anfield.

“Real Madrid are always going to be Real Madrid, aren’t they?” Johnson said. “They’re always going to attract the big names, regardless of who their manager is because they’re one of the most iconic clubs in the world.

“I’m not surprised that he wants to go there. What player wouldn’t? Maybe the uncertainty surrounding who’s going to manage Liverpool next season is the reason why Mbappé wouldn’t be prepared to take the risk of moving to Anfield.

“If he goes to Real Madrid, he will be the best player in La Liga, live in Madrid and will never have to look back. You have that option, or you can go to Liverpool and not know what the next 18 months hold for you. Liverpool are a very difficult club to say no to, but this scenario is a bit different when you take the change of manager into consideration.”

Liverpool.com says: More than anything, not signing Mbappé is clearly about the finances. Whether Klopp is there or not, the numbers involved in getting him in are simply ridiculous. Liverpool was never likely to be a serious option for the player unless he dramatically reduced his demands.
