Liverpool’s full injury list, suspensions and availability ahead of Wolves
Here’s the latest on Liverpool’s injuries, suspensions and availability when they face Wolves in the Premier League on Wednesday night
Liverpool continue to struggle with a string of injuries ahead of their next Premier League clash with Wolves.
The Reds have had several of their key players on the touchline at various times during the campaign, either through injury or suspension, as they now prepare to face Wolves at Anfield.
Diogo Jota, Roberto Firmino and Virgil van Dijk are three players who have recently recovered from their respective injuries. Ibrahima Konate and Darwin Nunez have also recovered from their fitness issues and are returning to first-team training.
As for the suspension, Nunez served a three-match ban early in the campaign for a red card against Crystal Palace in August. Here’s a look at the current injury and suspension situation Jurgen Klopp has to deal with ahead of the next game.
injuries
Joe Gomez
Gomez was substituted in the second half last week as Liverpool were beaten by Real Madrid and he was seen walking through the tunnel clutching his hamstrings.
Klopp said after the game: “Yeah, we’ll see. He showed a little sign so we just made a decision. Now let’s see. It will be checked tomorrow.”
Gomez has since missed the tie with Crystal Palace and was confirmed absent for Wednesday night’s fixture with Wolves.
Darwin Nunez
Darwin Nunez missed the draw with Crystal Palace with a shoulder injury.
However, Klopp confirmed on Tuesday the striker was in first-team training and is fit for a match against Wolves.
Thiago Alcantara
Thiago has been sidelined since the beginning of February due to a hip injury. The timing of his recovery is uncertain. “Of course Thiago’s situation is not cool for us, he will be out for a while with a problem,” Klopp said on February 13.
Luis Diaz
Diaz has been out since the 3-2 loss to Arsenal on October 3 with a knee injury.
He was originally due to return at the end of December but suffered a setback in his recovery and is now expected to be out until March at the earliest.
Calvin Ramsey
Ramsay injured his knee last month and recently underwent surgery. The right-back has only made two appearances for the first team this season.
Klopp has already confirmed that the injury will almost certainly keep the defender out of action for the rest of the season. Exposed
Liverpool currently have no players in the Premier League or Champions League who are unavailable due to suspension.
Trent Alexander-Arnold is one yellow card away from a Champions League suspension ahead of the Round of 16 second leg against Real Madrid.
