Jamie Carragher urges £352m star to move, after he’s told he can join Liverpool
Jamie Carragher has urged PSG superstar Kylian Mbappe to drop the French champion amid rumors of a move to Liverpool.
Mbappé was part of the PSG squad that was beaten 2-0 by Bayern Munich in the Champions League last night. As a result, the Parisians dropped out of the race in the last 16 stages for the second consecutive year.
And speaking to CBS Sports Golazo after the game, Carragher said the sooner Mbappé leaves the “trash” at his current club, the better.
And speaking to CBS Sports Golazo after the match, Carragher said the sooner Mbappé leaves the “trash” at his current club, the better.
“I’m happy PSG are gone,” said the Liverpool legend. “I just don’t like the whole setup, everything about it. It’s not a team, it’s just a mess. Five out of seven years they’ve been out in the last 16. They’ve spent more money than anyone else, they have the best players in the world…
“Kylian Mbappe must leave that club”.
Liverpool the only option for Mbappé
PSG’s constant struggle in the Champions League is truly something extraordinary. They have been operating as an elite club for over a decade and they just can’t fix it.
To be honest, they seem to be getting the tougher end of the stick with draws. Bayern Munich this year, Real Madrid last. They are not ideal opponents for a round of 16. No way.
Nevertheless, the France team should be more than a game for both teams. Well, Neymar is injured at the moment but they still have Mbappe and Lionel Messi. The two players who scored four goals together in the last World Cup final.
From Mbappé’s perspective, it seems he will never be able to fulfill his dream of winning the Champions League with his hometown club. There have been countless rumors in recent years that the 24-year-old is finally getting tired of fading.
As a result, how many times have we heard that he wants out? Unfortunately for Kylian, however, he doesn’t have many options for where to go. In fact, in January it was said that the only club to which PSG would sell their jewel would be Liverpool.
With his mother reportedly being a fan of the Reds, there’s a connection there. But the simple fact is that Liverpool could never come close to paying their reported £352m fee and mammoth salaries. So while Carragher might wish otherwise, it seems poor Mbappe is stuck in his palatial prison for now.
