while, but there’s still plenty of Liverpool news to hear ahead of the weekend.

Missions abroad confirmed

Curtis Jones has surprisingly been called up for England Under-21 as the midfielder played just 55 minutes in 2023.

He joins Harvey Elliott in Lee Carsley’s squad, which will face France on March 25 and Croatia on March 28 in friendlies ahead of the European Under-21 Championship this summer.

The call-ups of Diogo Jota, Virgil van Dijk and Cody Gakpo have also been confirmed as their names have been added to the European list for EURO 2024 qualifiers. Jota was the only one of those three who had doubted his place given his lack of playing time lately since returning from injury.

Alisson is the most notable omission from Liverpool’s international regulars.

Brazil interim coach Ramon Menezes has decided not to select the goalkeeper for the upcoming friendly against Morocco. Fabinho and Roberto Firmino were left out due to poor form and lack of playing time.
