Chelsea Player ratings- Bournemouth 0-0 Chelsea: The Blues not considered impressive after away match against the Cherries
Colwill again went close when he looked to scramble home Jackson’s low cross following a corner, though Neto managed to eventually bundle the ball to safety.
Back down the other end, a low free-kick from Philip Billing was deflected agonisingly wide off the ankles of Gallagher.
Seconds later, Solanke brought a save out of the legs of Sanchez having cut inside past Gallagher to work room for a shot just inside the box.
Substitute Ben Chilwell sought to find a match-winning assist with a wicked cross which bounced off the head of Jackson, with Neto shuffling over his line to claw the ball away.
Neto once more saved Bournemouth when he threw up a strong hand to deny Cole Palmer’s volley from the six-yard line.
Chelsea were unable to find that crucial goal and Pochettino’s winless run away from home in the Premier League has been extended to 14 games.
Chelsea player ratings (4-2-3-1)
Robert Sanchez – October 7 – Called to act sporadically but still have to be alert and watch out for danger.
Malo Gusto – 6/10 – Another comfortable performance in the absence of Reece James, although not spectacular. Good link with Sterling.
Axel Disasi – 7/10 – The only weakness in Disasi’s match was a brutal foul on the edge of the penalty area. Otherwise a great outing.
Thiago Silva – 5/10 – Was uncomfortable in his physical contest with Solanke and was probably relieved there weren’t too many of them.
Levi Colwill – 6/10 – Clearly not a left-back although he still played quite well. Unencumbered by Bournemouth’s array of speedy wingers.
Conor Gallagher – 6/10 – Guilty of missing out on some glorious opportunities, although he at least had the energy and effort to make it in those areas.
Lesley Ugochukwu – 6/10 – Didn’t look out of place in his first Premier League match. Considering the chaos at Chelsea, that’s pretty impressive.
Raheem Sterling – 7/10 – The winger’s rejuvenation continued on the south coast, running circles around Kerkez and causing Bournemouth to panic.
Enzo Fernandez – 4/10 – It’s easy to forget that the man worth £105 million is even playing. Not suitable to play in the number 10 position and Chelsea really needs him to participate more.
Mykhailo Mudryk – 7/10 – A direct line throughout his 63 minutes, creating Chelsea’s best chances on the pitch.
Nicolas Jackson – 4/10 – Syndication and social media producers would not be kind to Jackson, who missed many opportunities and took humorous shots into the crowd.
Substitute
Cole Palmer (63′ for Mudryk) – 5/10
Ben Chilwell (81′ for Colwill) – 6/10
Ian Maatsen (81′ for Fernandez) – 5/10
Unused subs:
Bergstrom (GK), Petrovic (GK), Gilchrist, Washington, Matos, Stuttering
Manager
Mauricio Pochettino – 5/10 – Chelsea still lacks cohesion and is reminiscent of Graham Potter’s team last season.
Player of the match – Sterling was a shining light for Chelsea
