Arsenal news: Mikel Arteta offered the chance to sign  the 23 yrs old Juventus star and more

According to reports from Italy, Arsenal have been offered the chance to sign Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic by their representatives. The Serb missed the chance to sign for the Gunners at the start of 2022 but his move to Turin didn’t go as planned.

According to Italian outlet La Stampa (via Tuttomercatoweb), the forward’s agents have offered his services to secure a loophole for Juventus. Vlahovic has only been at the Old Lady for 16 months, where he scored 20 goals in 56 games.
This season, however, the 23-year-old hasn’t scored in Serie A since February and has struggled to adapt to Max Allegri’s system which resulted in his departure being cancelled. The report claims the striker doesn’t want to stay at the club long-term but Juventus are unlikely to go down easily.

They are said to be asking for at least €70m (£61.9m) for his services, making Vlahovic more or less a ‘non-transferable’ asset ahead of the summer window. Arsenal and Bayern Munich are the two teams that have received the offer, although it is unclear if a deal will materialise.

West Ham identify rice substitutes

Arsenal will be looking to bolster Mikel Arteta’s squad this summer with the signing of West Ham star Declan Rice. football.london reported in January that the Gunners are prioritizing a transfer for the England international next season. West Ham are now laying the groundwork for their summer plans and putting together a plan for Rice’s replacement. Eintracht Frankfurt star – and former Arsenal target – Djibril Sow has been identified after head of recruitment, Rob Newman, singled out the Swiss international during last weekend’s match with Borussia Dortmund.
That’s according to The Sun, who say Sow has been on the Hammers’ radar for some time after impressing Moyes in the Europa League semi-final last season.

Right back solution

Arsenal have often fielded Ben White at right-back this season, despite him being a centre-back by nature. However, with a new signing at full-back looking likely, White could finally end up in his preferred position. Real Sociedad’s Ivan Fresneda has been heavily linked and now a new goal has been linked to the Gunners. According to FootMercato, Arsenal and Brighton are both targeting Ajax defender Devyne Rensch from the Premier League, with Sevilla also interested.

The Seagulls would currently top the race, but if Arsenal secure his signature, a major problem with William Saliba would also be resolved. With the arrival of Rensch, White could be used in central defence, while Saliba is rested if needed, as Rob Holding has struggled to integrate fully into Arteta’s system.
