Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is set to speak to the media ahead of the Premier League game against Manchester City and we have all the news from London Colney
Hello and welcome to the live stream of Arsenal’s press conference ahead of the Premier League clash with Manchester City.
Gunners manager Mikel Arteta will be before the media this afternoon at London Colney for a preview of tomorrow’s game, which will mean a lot in the spotlight at the Emirates Stadium as his side aim to get back to winning ways and a lead of six points to reach the top of the board.
After the much-discussed VAR error for Brentford’s equalizer at the weekend, the Spaniard could be asked for his opinion on Lee Mason’s failure to follow simple protocols as those two dropped points could prove costly at the Premier League trophy presentation in May.
Of course, Arteta’s main focus has to be the game ahead. As a result, he could provide updates on the fitness of Gabriel Jesus, Emile Smith Rowe and Reiss Nelson and whether any of the trios can be picked. Furthermore, Gabriel Martinelli’s form has been a cause for concern of late and it will be interesting to see if any teasing arises over the Brazilian’s replacement by Leandro Trossard.
You can hear what Arteta had to say about all these issues with Arsenal football.london writers Kaya Kaynak and Tashan Deniran-Alleyne in the live blog below.
Arteta speaks of “enormous anger” to the VAR
Mikel Arteta has spoken for the first time since Lee Mason made a VAR error during Arsenal’s draw with Brentford at the Emirates Stadium.
And the Gunners manager didn’t hold back.
“We ended the game in huge anger because it wasn’t human error, it was a big misunderstanding of your work and it’s not acceptable. This costs Arsenal two points. We appreciate the apology and explanation at the same time.
Arteta on Jesus
He’s doing very well, he’s already worked a lot on the ball and his rehabilitation is going well.
Arteta on the rebound
This was everyone’s immediate reaction. We can’t help it. Don’t use it as an excuse.
Satisfied with the apology? I won’t be satisfied until they give me back the two points, which they won’t.
