Arsenal’s stance on Victor Osimhen’s big transfer push has been revealed amid Man United-Chelsea links

Arsenal transfer news: The Gunners have been linked with a transfer of Napoli striker Victor Osimhen ahead of the summer, along with Chelsea and Manchester United

Arsenal are the latest club to be linked with the transfer of Napoli striker Victor Osimhen after an impressive season for the Nigerian. The 24-year-old has become a much-loved player with a big transfer this summer after helping the Azzurri reach the Scudetto again.

19 goals in 21 Serie A appearances have underlined their level of performance this season, with Napoli now 15 points clear of second-placed Inter Milan. While the focus will undoubtedly be on winning the title, Osimhen has spoken of the possibility of a transfer in the future.

“I’m working so hard to fulfill my dream of one day playing in the Premier League,” the striker has told reporters in recent days, possibly putting some clubs on alert. “But like I said, it’s a process and I want to keep that momentum going and continue to do well.”

That acknowledgment of a willingness to move to the Premier League has only fueled interest from a few clubs, with Chelsea and Manchester United the main contenders. However, leaders Arsenal have also been linked, with the potential need for a consistent goalscorer.

While there could be a lot of interest, Fabrizio Romano said the Gunners were unlikely to move to Osimhen in the summer.

He told CaughtOffside: “I haven’t confirmed at the moment [Arsenal’s interest in Osimhen]. Arsenal have Gabriel Jesus, Nketiah, Balogun and Osimhen’s price will be huge too. I think Arsenal have other priorities for this summer, including a new midfielder.”

It suggests the Gunners are looking elsewhere for changes and are unlikely to be embroiled in a potential bidding war over a player having an exceptional season.

Do you think this is a nice suggestion ?

Arsenal vs Bournemouth post-press conference : Mikel Arteta on Nelson winner, Trossard injury and title race

I’ve always seen the talent, but it’s on another level. It’s a good lesson for me and the coaches that we need him and that he can be very important for the team.

Arteta on Trossard’s Inj

It is a concern. He came to me and told me that I couldn’t go on.

Arteta on his reaction to the goal

You lose track of where you are, I started running and I didn’t know where I was running. Just looking at everyone’s faces is just awesome to be alive.

Arteta on what it says about the character of his team

A lot. I think the team showed a different will to win.

Arteta on the game

Everyone is a bit overwhelmed. It was madness from the first minute of the game when we defended so badly and then you have to climb a mountain. After that, do not lose form and try to score first. We did and when we did, the atmosphere and the place changed. We created a lot of chances. I thought submarines made a big impression. So happy for Reiss after making a huge impression.

O’Neil on the celebrations after the winner

I have no comment on what Arsenal did. I shook Mikel’s hand, it was a game he had to win and I needed it. We went into battle and he won. They score a goal that they can celebrate as they see fit.

O’Neil to Arsenal

They are the best team in the league. I don’t think many people expected us to come here to annoy Arsenal, but we did and we barely succeeded.
