Critical Liverpool deal talks are nearing completion, with Klopp set to secure a signing that will put a smile on Salah's face

The agent of a Liverpool star, who is crucial to getting the most out of Mohamed Salah, has revealed talks are intensifying over a new deal and a wide date has emerged for the announcement of the renewal.

Liverpool’s season so far can only be described as a huge disappointment. Knocked out of both domestic cups, the Reds have a mountain to climb if they are to close the 10-point gap in fourth place.

The Champions League could offer some respite, although a brutal round of 16 draw against Real Madrid is just as likely to end in disaster.

Among the many problems Jurgen Klopp will have to solve in the coming months is how to get the best out of Mohamed Salah. The Egyptian has looked increasingly frustrated lately and with the absence of Sadio Mane and injured Roberto Firmino his tally has plummeted.

In fact, Salah has scored just three goals in nine Liverpool appearances since the World Cup. He has also failed to find the net in Liverpool’s last four league games. The Reds only got four points out of a possible twelve on this course.

Klopp recently admitted his superstar striker misses playing alongside Mane and Firmino in what was once the most dangerous and oiled front three in world football. But while Mane, now from Bayern Munich, will not return, Firmino will. The Brazilian has been sidelined with a calf injury since December, although Klopp recently confirmed he will return to first-team training in mid-February.

Apart from that, Firmino’s long-term future at Anfield remains uncertain as his contract expires in the summer.

The Reds favorite is known to be eager to extend his stay. Klopp also wants to keep his trusted lieutenant, and according to the player’s agent, both will likely get their wish. Firmino says things are going “really good”; suggested renewal date

Firmino’s agent, Roger Wittman, told Sky Germany: “The relationship between Roberto and Liverpool is very long. Roberto feels good.

“We are in a big trade right now and in February we will probably know where the journey is going.

“But Roberto must also have a say in reaching an agreement with Liverpool. We are on the right track. We have excellent talks with Liverpool. They are an excellently positioned club.”

If Wittman is right, Reds fans will wake up to news of Firmino’s contract extension one morning later this month.

This will be warmly received by the vast majority of Liverpool fans, and according to Klopp also by Mohamed Salah.

Elsewhere, Liverpool are yet to make decisions about the future of Adrian, James Milner, Naby Keita and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.

Like Firmino, the quartet all entered the final six months of their deals.

Liverpool fans plan walk out protest

Liverpool fans have lost patience with Fenway Sports Group after another transfer window ended without the signing of a midfielder. This got the fans restlest and wanting to let the whole world know about it.

After years of tension below the surface over ticket prices, European Super League plans and their sell-for-buy transfer policy, despite the club being third in terms of world football revenue.

The Liverpool FC Twitter account announced today that youngster Fidel O’Rourke has been loaned to Halifax Town FC until the end of the season.
The announcement was met with outrage by some Liverpool supporters, who responded with photos of owner John Henry with the message “FSG OUT, ENOUGH IS ENOUGH”.

Thousands of the same image were scattered in the comments section of the post. Liverpool have signed just one midfielder since 2018, with Thiago Alcantara joining the club in 2020 for £25m.

Jurgen Klopp has consistently said there were no options on the market to protect FSG, while Chelsea have signed Enzo Fernandez, Arsenal have signed Jorginho, Manchester United have signed Marcel Sabitzer, Leeds have signed Weston McKennie and many other midfielders have landed in the Premier League.

This decision will leave Liverpool stranded in the middle of the park, with Jordan Henderson and James Milner still regular starters.

The Reds are currently ninth in the Premier League and are ten points clear of Champions League qualification.
Admittedly, it seems FSG have lost all ambition at the club since announcing they would be willing to sell the club if the right offer comes along. It may seem insignificant to some fans, but imagine paying £300 to watch a Liverpool match without that money being put back into the team.

Unfortunately, the negligence of the FSG has all but driven the final nail in the coffin for Liverpool’s season.
