According to SportBILD’s Christian Falk, Josko Gvardiol could move to a Premier League club this summer. The Croatian has spoken in the past about his ‘dream’ club, Liverpool.
The main story this morning comes from Chelsea midfielder Mason Mount. His contract with the Londoners is nearing the final 12 months and the Reds are said to be in hiding and ready to test their resolve.
Jurgen Klopp is expected to speak to the media today ahead of Monday’s Merseyside derby clash with Everton. Ansu Fati Links
Ansu Fati is linked with a move to Manchester United and Liverpool, according to famous transfer insider Fabrizio Romano.
The 20-year-old has fallen down the pecking order at Barcelona and the Premier League big guns are currently looking for a transfer for the wonderkid.
Both clubs have been in contact with his agent Jorge Mendes regarding a summer move.
defense issues
Will Joel Matip and Joe Gomez remain at the heart of the defense despite the pair’s horror show against Wolves last Saturday?
Liverpool have been beaten 3-0 by Wolves and something has to change. Virgil van Dijk is back, but Monday will probably come too soon for him.
Could Klopp call Nat Phillips to defend him? It is certainly not excluded.
Who starts in midfield?
With Thiago now a doubt for Monday’s Everton match, who will start in the midfield three for Liverpool? I can imagine Jordan Henderson coming back after sitting on the bench for the last four games.
Can the captain have a positive impact on the Reds’ midfield against Everton? Possible. Experience and discipline are key on Mondays.
Jurgen Klopp repeated the biggest transfer blunder
Liverpool received a welcome surge in injuries on Thursday as Diogo Jota, Virgil van Dijk, Roberto Firmino and Arthur Melo were all resumed in training. Although the Dutch defender and Brazilian forward looked to be alone at the start of the session, their presence saw Jurgen Klopp’s side take a big step forward to have full odds again with Luis Diaz and Ibrahima Konate now i some publicly disclosed absent long-serving seniors.
Josko Gvardiol update
SportBILD’s Christian Falk believes Premier League clubs will be interested in signing RB Leipzig defender Josko Gvardiol this summer.
The Croatian World Cup star has come out talking about his ‘dream’ of playing for Liverpool after being linked with a move to Real Madrid.
“Gvardiol has made no secret of the fact that his favorite club as a child was Liverpool and that he always dreamed of moving there,” Falk told Caught Offside.
“When we see what’s happening at Liverpool right now, it’s clear they need players in this position. Of course he keeps an eye on the Premier League. If Real Madrid arrives, it’s also interesting for him, but he hasn’t offered himself to the club.”
Injury updates
Thiago Alcantara is a doubt for Monday’s derby after not playing for the squad all week with a hip flexor problem.
Whether he will be fit for the match against Everton remains to be seen, but it looks like Diogo Jota will be involved in the squad.
Are you Tielemans, anyone?
Former Reds Glen Johnson has told Betfred he thinks Liverpool should pursue a free transfer for Youri Tielemans in the summer. “I would say they need to sign two or three midfielders this summer. Once they have signed a midfielder or two, they will probably have to sell a few more as well. They will need at least six midfielders. land in their team in the future and when you can sign someone like Youri Tielemans on a free transfer you have to seriously consider a move If we’re sitting here in the summer and Liverpool have signed N’Golo Kanté and Youri Tielemans for nothing, it’s a damn good deal. Then they have enough money left over to do a big deal somewhere else.
Pursuit of Mount Mason
Mason Mount’s future at Chelsea is ‘in doubt’ after contract talks stalled – giving Liverpool confidence as they consider a move for the Englishman. The Evening Standard reports that Mount is a target for Liverpool and six other big Premier League clubs are set to test Chelsea’s resolve.
Liverpool are set to refresh their midfield in the summer with Jude Bellingham as their main focus. It takes more than the English star, as Matheus Nunes and Mason Mount have also emerged as targets.
