Good News: Liverpool talent could save transfer millions as Jurgen Klopp’s double injury is a boost

Liverpool are set to enter the transfer market for new signings this summer, but Jurgen Klopp could be tempted to find solutions within his own ranks.

Given Liverpool’s mixed fortunes this season, it’s probably understandable that there have been concerns about which players the Reds could bring in this summer to revitalize the squad. However, there are still a few options left in Jurgen Klopp’s arsenal which could end up saving the club millions.

With problems for the Reds mainly in defense and midfield, they are likely to dive into the transfer market this summer, but there are currently a number of players on Liverpool’s books who will try to claim a first-team action, such as Sepp van den Berg, who is currently on loan at Bundesliga club Schalke.

Of course, it looks like Liverpool’s first-choice centre-backs Virgil van Dijk and Ibrahima Konaté are steadfast in that respect, but there could well be reinforcements up for grabs next season. Liverpool seem to be pretty well equipped in attack these days, with Darwin Núñez, Cody Gakpo and Mohamed Salah in the new top three earning plenty of praise from recent performances.

After missing out through injury it would be easy to overlook another star striker for the Reds as Luis Díaz is set to return to action in the coming weeks after being sent off in October as he was arguably the best player of the team in the first months of the season. .

Liverpool already have the ‘next Virgil van Dijk’

Liverpool could need reinforcements mid-half this summer as Joe Gomez’s form has been inconsistent at times and the futures of Joel Matip and Nat Phillips are seen as uncertain. One player not to be overlooked is a defender who is already on Liverpool’s books.

Sepp van den Berg was on loan at Schalke in the Bundesliga this season and impressed on points before his progress was limited by an ankle injury. The young Dutchman has won no fewer than nine of his 13 defensive duels and thrown no fewer than 26 interceptions in his first three games in Germany. .

The 21-year-old has been out since October but recently played 90 minutes for second-flight side Schalke in a bid to regain fitness. Perhaps he can make the difference for the Bundesliga fighters in the run-up phase.

With a double return from injury to Liverpool, the story turns upside down

Liverpool have seen quite a resurgence of late with four wins from their last five games putting the Reds in good position to face a real challenge for a top four finish in the final Premier League table. In that time, several players have earned places in Jürgen Klopp’s squad, with performances in recent weeks showing a huge improvement on the previous month. With Liverpool’s three new forwards already receiving critical acclaim and Stefan Bajčetić’s emergence in midfield accompanying the return of Jordan Henderson and Fabinho, one wonders where this leaves some of the players who were absent at the time. In the case of Luis Díaz and Thiago Alcântara, the imminent return of the couple will be a real boost in terms of rotation opportunities.

Both players have been among the Reds’ best players so far this season, but now find themselves in the unfortunate position of having to try and win back their place in the squad. Given Liverpool’s woes so far this season, it could be argued that this is quite a problem for Klopp!
