Is Liverpool Front Three Dead?

The Front Three has finished its course with Sadio Mané moving from Liverpool to Bayern Munich. The race is then restarted by a new Front Three.

We were all aware that Sadio Mané, Roberto Firmino, and Mohamed Salah’s “Front Three” would eventually break up. And that “someday” turned into “sometime soon” as the days and months of the most recent seasons went by without any of Mo, Bobby, or Sadio renewing.Still, few of us were emotionally prepared for the day when The Front Three would be no more. As it turns out, Mané was the first to go, but Firmino and Salah are likely to depart next summer.

Again, intellectually we can be glad that we got to watch these three play together for 5 full seasons (and Sadio for 6 seasons). We will look back at their highlight packages and YouTube compilations for years to come. We will be the grizzled, old, Liverpool fans, telling younger generations what it was like. Intellectually, we can tell ourselves “don’t be sad it’s over, be happy that it happened.”We can still be saddened that Mané won’t ever play another game for Liverpool, though. Mo, Bobby, and Sadio will never again terrorize backlines in England, Europe, or anywhere else in the globe. Those heydays are now formally history.

However, because they were all on the wrong side of 30, we always required long-term replacements for these quickly dwindling stars. Our recruitment staff has been working hard to locate and hire those replacements.

Can the New Front Three compete with the Original Front Three? It’s improbable. And that’s kind of alright. Such legendary strikers as Daniel Sturridge, Luis Suarez, and Fernando Torres were never replaced. By their very nature, strikers are distinctive and create their legendary moments in their own special ways.
