Following Todd Boehly’s ownership of Chelsea, the Canadian defender is the club’s second signing; Buchanan won 13 trophies for Lyon in five and a half years, including five Champions League crowns; Emma Hayes also brought Eve Perriset to the club. Kadeisha Buchanan, a five-time Champions League winner, has joined Chelsea Women on a three-year agreement from Lyon.

On Friday morning, the Canada centre-back was introduced as a Chelsea player, and it was also confirmed that she will wear the No. 26 shirt for the first time since men’s captain John Terry departed the club in 2017.

Buchanan won 13 championships during her five-and-a-half years with Lyon, including eight domestic crowns and five Champions Leagues, the most recent of which came in last month’s final victory over Barcelona.
As she joins Women’s Super League champions Chelsea, the 26-year-old will be hoping to add to her significant title haul.
