Liverpool are interested in Chelsea star Mason Mount, the midfielder is still awaiting a contract offer from the Blues.
With the influx of new stars to west London, Mount is now one of Chelsea’s lowest-paid first-team players. With only 18 months left in his current deal, it’s still uncertain whether he will stay with the club beyond this season, especially when the club are in transition.

Mount has been at Chelsea since the age of six, but Liverpool have long been interested in the 24-year-old and are monitoring the situation closely.

According to the Guardian(opens in a new tab), Liverpool are monitoring the contract situation. With Naby Keita and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain out of contract this summer and Jordan Henderson and Fabinho under fire for poor performances, a rebuild is due.

The imminent sale of Liverpool (opens in a new tab) would make Mount a huge buy for the new regime – although Mount, who is nearing the end of his contract, may not cost as much as some expect.

Liverpool are also reportedly interested in Ju Bellingham, with Borussia Dortmund appearing to be making nine-figure demands.

Fabinho, Stefan Bajcetic, Curtis Jones, Naby Keita, Thiago Alcantara, Arthur Melo, Jordan Henderson, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, James Milner, Harvey Elliott and Fabio Carvalho are all midfield options for Jurgen Klopp – although all six times European champions have been in He has only signed one permanent contract in the last four years and had midfield experience before joining Anfield.

Liverpool and Chelsea are also said to be at odds over Brighton’s Moises Caicedo. The Ecuadorian is valued at £75m by the Seagulls, with Chelsea keen to drop their asking price to around £55m.

KLOPP IS CALLING': ROMANO SAYS LIVERPOOL TO CALL SIGN

Fabrizio Romano spoke on the House Of Champions podcast about what he knows about Liverpool and the race to sign Jude Bellingham.

It’s no secret that the Reds want the England midfielder in the summer, but as we all know this will be a transfer contest for all ages.

Indeed, almost every top club in Europe wants Bellingham, and the winner of this race will have to work hard to secure the lad’s signature.

According to Romano, Liverpool are doing just that. The reporter actually said that he has been told that Jurgen Klopp calls almost every day about this potential signing. KLOPP WORKS HARD

Romano shared what he knows about this situation.

“He’s an incredible player but I think it will be very difficult for Borussia Dortmund to keep Jude Bellingham for another season. Behind the scenes the situation is crazy. All the big clubs are moving. I’ve been told that Jurgen Klopp was calling almost every day asking for updates on Jude Bellingham’s situation,” Romano said. “Chelsea will definitely go for an important midfielder, Bellingham is a player they value. Manchester City are in contention, Real Madrid are monitoring the situation. It’s a big fight.”

DOING THE FOOT WORK

Klopp is apparently doing everything behind the scenes to bring Bellingham to Liverpool, but perhaps what the Reds do on the pitch between now and the end of the season is more important.

Make no mistake, Bellingham will want to play in the Champions League next season and unless Liverpool’s form improves dramatically very soon, they won’t be playing in UEFA’s top competition next year.

They can never write off Liverpool, but if they can’t finish in the top four this season, it’s hard to imagine them winning this transfer race.
