Liverpool face transfer rift from one of the World Cup’s most impressive players

Liverpool face more Madrid-imposed transfer fears, with Jurgen Klopp’s midfield frustration set to linger in January. The Reds are looking to bolster their flagging division but appear snubbed by another goal.

Liverpool need fresh blood in midfield as Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Naby Keita are both set to leave on free transfers when their contracts expire in July.

James Milner’s future at Anfield is also in doubt. The 37-year-old is set to join Klopp’s coaching staff but could do so as a player-manager if he decides to postpone his cleats suspension. Regardless, Fabinho, Jordan Henderson and Thiago will all be 30 or older by the end of 2023 and Klopp has made renewing his ranks a priority.

However, he appears to be facing disappointment over his interest in one of the most impressive players of the 2022 World Cup.
Liverpool have been linked with Fiorentina midfielder Sofyan Amrabat in recent months, with Tottenham Hotspur also credited with an interest.

But Amrabat’s heart is reportedly set to move to Madrid, leaving the Reds in danger of missing out on another goal to the Spanish capital. According to Foot Mercato, Atletico Madrid are eyeing a potential dive for the 26-year-old, who has been lauded for his performances in Qatar.
It is claimed that if Atleti’s interest turns out to be true, Amrabat would prioritize a move to the Wanda Metropolitano over any other destination.
The report adds that the Rojiblancos would tick all the boxes for his desired transfer from Fiorentina with the possibility of playing in La Liga as one of his biggest draws.

Atleti are yet to approach Fiorentina with an offer or a request on what will be the next step in fulfilling Amrabat’s dream of playing in Spain.
However, with Liverpool expected to be out of the ordinary, Klopp is likely to put most of his eggs in one basket before the summer. Jude Bellingham is regarded as the priority of the Merseyside giants, as he is at many clubs, and Borussia Dortmund expects to cash in on the 19-year-old this year.
If Liverpool can get his signature over the line, it would make up for the loss of Aurelien Tchouameni to Real Madrid last year and possibly Amrabat to Atleti.
