Liverpool transfer news LIVE – Roberto Firmino next club, Mohamed Salah exit request, Naby Keita proposal

Liverpool broadcast news, rumours, gossip and speculation including updates on Roberto Firmino and Max Kilman as well as reactions to Bournemouth defeat

And to make matters worse, Tottenham Hotspur took advantage of the Reds’ slippage to consolidate their hold on fourth and last place in the Champions League.

Away from the action on the pitch, Roberto Firmino is set to leave Liverpool this summer, as is well documented. And now the interest in the Brazilian striker has also appeared in MLS.

At first it was claimed the Reds were ‘very impressed’ with Wolves defender Max Kilman.

Aldridge open to Salah sale

John Aldridge has admitted Mohamed Salah’s departure could be an option this summer. The Egyptian international failed to convert a penalty in the Reds’ 1-0 defeat at Bournemouth, a result which saw Tottenham Hotspur regain control of their Champions League run.

In response to Salah’s miss in yesterday’s defeat, ECHO columnist Aldridge has floated the possibility of selling the 30-year-old to fund new signings.

He told the Sunday World: “In recent seasons Klopp’s side had too much speed, power and desire to handle these relegation fighters. But everything has changed – and I look at Mohamed Salah’s body language and something is wrong.

Apart from his missed penalty, he delivers a passionless show and I hate to write negative things about a player who is an all-time Liverpool great. There may be some debate as to whether selling Salah this summer and using that money to reinvest in the team could be an option, but that idea can wait until the end of the season. Until then, Salah has to lead Liverpool as a senior striker – and he just hasn’t done that at Bournemouth.”

Keita proposed to Inter

Naby Keita’s agent has reportedly offered his clients Inter Milan as the Liverpool midfielder looks increasingly likely to be heading for the exit door.

The Reds midfielder is out of contract at the end of the season and is likely to be among the players who have not been offered a new contract by the club as Jurgen Klopp prepares to transform his midfield.

A recent report from Calciomercato began that Keita Inter has been ‘offered’ but there has been no ‘openness’ amid wage demands and concerns over the player’s injury record.

Inter sporting director Piero Ausilio is described as a ‘big admirer’ of Liverpool No8 and has ‘not closed the door on a potential deal’. Message from Solanka

Former Liverpool striker Dominic Solanke sent the Reds a message of happiness after taking over from Jurgen Klopp on Saturday afternoon.

The 25-year-old left Anfield permanently to sign with Bournemouth in 2019 and has been a key player for The Cherries since his arrival.

MLS clubs are eyeing Firmino

According to Tom Bogert, Roberto Firmino will receive offers from MLS in the form of LAFC and St Louis City as his Liverpool contract enters its final months.

The Brazilian will make time for his Reds in the summer after eight successful years at Anfield.

Last week it was confirmed that he will not renew his contract with Jurgen Klopp.
