Liverpool will be looking to get back on track when Everton make the short trip to Anfield tonight

Hello and welcome to our live blog from today’s Premier League match between Liverpool and Everton.

Jurgen Klopp’s side will be desperate for three points tonight as the Reds look to get their season back on track after winning just one of their last seven games in all competitions.

Opponents Everton head into this Merseyside derby after an impressive home win over Arsenal and Sean Dyche are sure to provide another upset tonight.

Liverpool won 2-0 when the teams last met at Anfield in April after goals from Andy Robertson and Divock Origi and will be hoping to repeat that result in the clubs’ final head-to-head.

Ian Doyle and Paul Gorst will be on hand to bring you the latest Merseyside derby news, with team news, in-game updates and post-match analysis

strange target

Strange target. Everton’s corner sees Tarkowski hit the post, the rebound comes back to McNeil whose shot is blocked by Gomez.

Nunez then clears Salah who replays him, Nunez running 60 yards and passing where Salah strikes home past two other Liverpool players.

thunderbolt.

Liverpool goal

'The squad's commitment is as strong as ever - no stone is being left unturned'

In the blink of an eye, Liverpool are at the other end and Salah pushes them home.

However, Nunez takes the applause! What a race it was. AIM! Liverpool 1-0 Everton (Salah)

Dangerous Matip startup

Another error from Matip, this time letting an innocent ball go down the line for an Everton throw.

All in all, he hasn’t been there yet. He is lucky to face such inexperience at Simms.

Liverpool under control

Liverpool are good at the top now but still no chance to speak of.

Salah just passed two hours before having his low cross erased. He needs to be more involved because he was good when he was on the ball.

Impressive Darwin

Darwin Nunez seems ready to be honest! He just made his way between two defenders before seeing a shot blocked by Tarkowski, I think.

The Cup had fun.

Momentum building

Liverpool are slowly gaining some momentum.

Gakpo should have done much better moments ago with a close-range header and Pickford was just forced into an error by Henderson to send Anfield up. off-side

Everton seem to be quite adept at taking the ball out of play at the moment. Odd.

Luck for Gakpo

Nunez attempts an acrobatic aerial strike at the far post, which turns into a cross that Gakpo fails to deflect quite on goal.

It’s more than half a chance.

Salah wants a free kick

Tarkowski crushes Salah and is too strong for him and pushes him away with an arm across his chest. Some kind of progress

A slow start indeed, but it’s ideal for Liverpool, who have conceded five goals in the first five minutes this season.

They also conceded first in 12 out of 20 games. So that’s actually a form of progress.

Liverpool free kick

Free kick for Liverpool just on the edge of the box as Nunez was brought down by Tarkowski after a stampede.

Salah slams him against the wall. He actually hit one of the Liverpool players I think.

Easy start

Not much is happening so far. Matip’s mistake came as a bit of a shock, but Simms’ shot was blocked by Gomez.

Salah just had the chance to shoot in the penalty area, but Gueye was good at coming from behind.

Nunez to Coleman

I think Nunez vs. Coleman is something to watch. Error by Matip

A shock from Matip as he executes an air punch on a clearance. Simms’ shot is blocked by Gomez and Bajcetic nods at Alisson.

Not great on the central defender’s side.

Lots of long balls

Not much is happening at the moment. Liverpool may be playing too many long balls. The game will perhaps calm down around the 80th minute. It is a derby after all.

Early set-up for Liverpool

Looks like Gakpo in the middle for Liverpool with Nunez on the left.

The midfield is still calming down but Fabinho could go deeper, with Bajcetic on the left and Henderson on the right of centre. It’s either that or 4-2-1-3 with Henderson. Big night for Liverpool

Both teams are out and You’ll Never Walk Alone is in full swing. A great night for Liverpool’s season, you feel.

Is this where the turning point begins?

Merseyside derby record for Jurgen Klopp

Liverpool’s win tonight will see Jurgen Klopp equal Rafa Benitez’s record of eight Premier League wins in the game.

He’s usually having fun here against tonight’s visitors. Here come the teams

The teams arrive to a noisy and cold reception.
